I've always been fascinated by people who take the time to get their nails all fancy and are able to keep them long and luxurious. I am not one of those people. My cubicle neighbor just had her "nails did" and we thought it would be funny to put my short, stubby, boring nails on top of her super hot stuff nails. Nice contrast, huh? I've always wished I could grow nails (OK, they grow, but I *might* automatically tear them as soon as they're longer than a smidge), but alas, I'm left with boring plain nails. I've had my nails done (for special occasions), but the expense just seems too much for something I'm going to probably break within five seconds of leaving the beauty parlor (or nail salon....see, I don't even know where I'd get them done). Granted, I wouldn't want to have scary Elvira nails, but a cute little nail wouldn't hurt. I've always likened my inability to grow my nails to my inability to grow a relationship...just as it starts to grow, I break it down. Too impatient for my own good. Perhaps one day I'll be able to sport a fancy nail....or maybe I'll just continue to rock my short and stubby look. Who knows.
