Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Why is it that people look better the farther away they are? And yet, when you do finally get to see each other face to face you're reminded of why you don't live closer to begin with. I've never understood the draw, although for as long as I can remember I've had a myriad of far away loves in other towns, states, and countries for that matter. I was like that character in Grease who said she was completely devoted to each and every one of the guys in her wallet...well, until they both decide to visit on the same weekend (which I *might've* had happen before...). Last week on my mystery visit I had such an, um, interesting (read: miserable) time fighting with one such person. Yet, from afar, he looks mighty fine. Up close, our interactions reminded me more of a bickering married couple. Ugh. Who wants that? I wish I could just be happy with what I have, or at least with someone living in my same state (would town be too much to ask?). That would rule.
