What Does Your Holiday Card Say About You?

I think you can tell a lot about a person by the holiday card they send out. For example, I received a card last week from my somewhat recently married friend. On the card was an adorable picture of her daughter signed by "Liz and Mary." Hmmph. Interesting way to announce to the world you are no longer married (and in case there was any doubt, yesterday her Facebook relationship status changed from married to single). At work I received a (boring) non-photo card from my friend "T" who signed it from her husband and kids. You know what? If the card is from you and this is a work card exchange, I don't need your family to sign the card. Now, this is different if she'd sent it to my house. Then it would be acceptable. However, at work, just sign it from you. Don't bring people into it that I've never met. Does that sound harsh? Sorry, not my intent. But at work, it's just the person you know. If you happen to socialize outside of work, then it might be allowed, but I don't know. Wow, I'm certainly opinionated. I'm sure it's *only* about this, right? Otherwise I'm a quiet little mouse. No opinions at all. :)

this post was funny. and i have to say i agree 100%. and i should add i too enjoyed your card this year - even showed it to a couple friends.
sorry, i'm one of those lame ones who does diddly. well, i do write some cards to give to my reading students - not like they appreciate it - but i tell myself they do - and somehow i hope it's one of those things that'll point them in the right direction and they'll suddenly become readers. it's my christmas dream.

My card says nothing about me...I usually don't send one.
