A Wedding, a Funeral, and One Long Day

It's been a long and interesting day. I found out yesterday that Sister Kettley, the wife of my favorite Bishop, had passed away and her services were this morning. It was a beautiful funeral and many wonderful things were said. Also, it was the perfect place for crying in public without anyone being the wiser. After the funeral, I went to see Fired Up with my new friend Calvin, who wanted to take me someplace to make me smile. We had a nice time, but I'm fairly certain it's WAY too soon to be making new "friends."
When I got back home, my friend Kimmie drove down from Tooele to hang out and cheer me up for the rest of the day, which turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. We went shopping, went to dinner, and she was my hot date for my friend Melanie's wedding reception. Thank goodness she was there, as the receiving line at the reception took longer than any line for a ride at Disneyland (in fact, at one point I was hoping all of our waiting was for a ride - at least there'd be some fun at the end!). Kimmie was tempted to run off with the cake for stealing so much of her time tonight. We should've had a picture with her trying to run off with it (that would've been great!). :) The wedding was nice and the church gym was transformed into a wonderland. I'd never seen a canopy used in a church reception before; it was almost as beautiful as the happy bride and groom. Congratulations, newlyweds! :)
