Happy Anniversary to Me!!!

Today is my seven-year anniversary at work - wahoo! Aside from collectively working at Sizzler for about seven years, this is the longest I've ever worked anywhere and I couldn't ask for a better place to work. It's funny how I ended up here, considering I was a transplant from California who didn't know any better. I'd moved to the state in October of 2001 to work on staff for Sundance, which is a seasonal position from October until February. That year was a little different, as the Olympics were held here at the end of January. As a funny sidenote, I was supposed to work for the Olympics, but I missed my interview and then subsequently was job-less. Luckily, I lived with a friend's family, so I didn't have to pay rent or anything (thank goodness). Anyway, I was interviewing at temp agencies and all over the place in the area. I got a full-time job at a company called ACS (but, really, I called it Lame Job) doing third-party verification calls for a phone company (yes, it's as exciting as it sounds). After two days working there for eight hours, I was about to lose my mind....I had to get a "real job" ASAP. Luckily, the temp agency was able to place me here, although I didn't have any idea what type of place it was. During my training, one of the girls who was hired on with me said she'd been trying to get a job here for three years, so I knew it must be a good place to be. Considering how many people stay here for 20 years and more, I'm even more sure now. I've met great friends (and I did meet a couple wonderful friends at Lame Job, as well, as I still worked there part-time for a few years). Hooray for seven years! :)
