Thank You, Netflix Gremlins

Sometimes it feels like I've got either a terrible memory (which is entirely possible), or there are Netflix gremlins that like to go in and mess with my queue. For those unfamiliar with how Netflix works, you have a queue which prioritizes all the movies you'd like to see. Once in awhile it seems like a movie gets in there that I have no recollection of even knowing about, let alone selecting. Last night was one of those times, as the movie Gamer arrived in the mail. WTF?!?! I didn't even know what it was. Luckily, the gremlins did good this time as I pretty much loved it.Gamer was about a future world where instead of digital avatars in a game, real humans were the avatars being controlled by people playing at home. There was another division called Slayers which were people on death row and if they survived 30 rounds, they were set free. Now, I'd never heard of "Second Life" (the game for avatars) except for Dwight playing it on The Office, until Sundance where I saw a fascinating documentary about it. I liked this movie because it was very thought provoking and full of interesting moral dilemmas. Granted, the violence was a little much for me (as I'm not one for tons of blood and gore), but overall I really enjoyed it. Plus, Gerard Butler? WIN.
