Road Trip from Hell

So, last weekend we drove to Utah pretty much without any issues at all. Easy peasy. Mind you, that's a 12 hour drive. This week we headed to Paso Robles, CA (which is 3 1/2 hours away from LA on the 101 or three hours from the 5 freeway). You'd think we'd be pros at driving, right? Wrong.
Granted, none of it was our fault, but boy did it make everything dramatic. So, to save a little time and spend more time with my BFF Lanette, who was going to the concert with us, we decided to drive to Bakersfield and meet up with her there. Then, we'd drive over to Paso Robles on Highway 46. All this would have been fine, except for the fact that the road closed halfway to her house. CRAP. We were in this horrible mess of non-moving hell for the longest time. Finally, Keith turned around and we had to drive all the way around, drop Sammy off with my Dad, and then head to Paso on the 101. Lanette was sure we wouldn't make it. Keith was sure we would.

This was me before the road closure as I was trying to display my awesome Duranie necklace for my Duranie friends who were also sporting theirs. Thankfully, we made it to Paso with time to spare before Duran Duran went on stage. Hooray! Great driving, babe!
