So Disappointing

This impeachment trial is so disappointing. I'm really disgusted with the seditious members of Congress who aren't giving the information the respect and attention it deserves. What has happened to our country?

This. Is. Not. Okay.

I can't seem to stop reading and learning about what happened at the Capitol last week. It is so horrible, disturbing, and horrendous. I can't wrap my head around how anyone would this was okay and even after the event, people still are justifying it. 

After 9/11 I don't remember anyone trying to figure out what the insurgents were feeling. Why are we without any leadership? Why is no one in charge of healing the nation? This is gross and disgusting and everyone involved should be ashamed of itself.

Migraine City USA

Apologies for the delay in posts this week, but I've been nursing a horrendous migraine that still isn't completely gone.

On the plus side, we've been binge watching a bunch of great shows, so I'm going to share about those.

I Never Learn

We went out for a few hours last weekend, but I ended up with this horrible sunburn. Yuch!

Sadly, a few days later it sprouted into a little blister. Ouch! Why do I do this to myself?

Um....

We had this professional picture taken at The Hollywood Show this weekend. Um....notice anything wrong with it?

Why is there so much room above our heads?!? Thankfully they agreed to a table selfie, but yikes! This one is the worst.

Duped? Possibly....

So, it's possible I've been duped by an Instagram ad. No confirmation yet either way, but it's not looking good. 

They were advertising this amazing video game system for $99. I know, I know. If it sounds too good to be true.....jokes on me, right? Will report back when I know either way!

Winter Cleaning?

So, after a solid month of traveling, being sick, etc., let's just say our dwelling was OUT OF CONTROL. Like, I know I've told you it was bad before, but this was an epic disaster.

Last night I'd finally had it and felt better enough that I could try and at least tackle a few rooms. Keith was out with some work friends, so I buckled down and did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.

What a difference a little cleaning makes! My entire energy shifted and I felt so much lighter.

Now I just need to apply that to the rest of the place and we're in business!

We can do it, right? Little by little we'll get through it.

How I Spent My Thanksgiving Holiday

SUPER sick!!! Blergh!!!

It's been almost a solid week of sneezing, coughing, and neverending nose-blowing. I am more than sick of being sick! Ugh. Huge thanks to my hubs for being a HERO despite not feeling 100% himself. Love you!

Migraine Migraine, Go Away

We're on Day Three of this migraine and I'm just about to scream.

Nothing seems to be helping it and I'm a mess.

Southwest Airlines Sucks

Full disclosure: We fly almost exclusively with Southwest (unless there's a good reason not to) and have always had good experiences, so this was a bit of a shock.

On our way back from Reno, our flight was delayed for three and a half hours. After waiting all that time in the airport, they decided to cancel the flight. Needless to say, we were not pleased.

We had to "sleep" at the airport (I could not with my horrible cough and lack of oxygen) until our next flight at 6am. It. Was. Hell.

To say my health deteriorated quickly would be the understatement of the year.

My husband can sleep anywhere - he's so lucky!

Breathing Treatments for the WIN

So, we all know I'd been sick last week and after another con weekend, it was not improving. In fact, I went downhill fast.

Our flight got cancelled in Vegas and we were forced to "sleep" (note: I did not) in the airport until they could fly us out at 6am. Since we'd found out about said cancellation at midnight, our options were fairly limited. Long story short, by the time we got home I was in bad shape. We spent hours at the Urgent Care and pharmacy yesterday getting a breathing treatment, a chest X-ray, and left with a Z-pack, two inhalers, a steroid shot, and a round of steroids.

Today was a whole new day! What a difference a day makes! I'm alive! Such a freaking relief!

Bad Day

Yesterday was a bad day. I'm very glad it's over and life has moved on. But, it was a rough one and by the time I got home I felt like the day had won. Day: 1, Pinky: 0.

Thankfully, I have a wonderful husband who somehow managed to make everything better. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden and had a really nice time. Then he came with me to slay my dragon (i.e. the company who made my day terrible) and by the end of the day, I felt a million times better.

Plus, look at all our Olive Garden mints! What could be better than that?!?!

Sleepy

I'm not sure what's going on, but I've been having a heck of a time falling asleep lately.

What's really annoying is that I feel so tired when I go to bed, but just lie awake forever. No bueno! The only thing helping is an ice pack near me, which is weird, I know, but seems to be the only thing to help. I'm not even that hot, but it does the trick. Whatever works, right?

Die, Flies!

On Saturday morning we woke up to a horror movie in our house - an infestation of large fruit flies that were EVERYWHERE. I basically spent the entire weekend killing them. YUCK!

These might look like flies on the screen, but in reality those are a bunch of dead flies I'd killed with 409 spray. Dead carcasses everywhere! Blech.

Go Away, Cold

I woke up today with a bad case of the getting-sicks. Stuffy nose, sore throat, all over malaise, the works. It's one of those on-the-verge things, which should be hitting in all its glory by tomorrow. 

Of course I'm supposed to be leaving on a girl's trip the day after tomorrow, but if this keeps up, I don't think I'm getting on a plane while sick as a dog. This could be trouble.

Boo! No!!! Not Again!!!

Guess what I got suddenly and out of nowhere on Memorial Day? Blood poisoning!

Was down all day yesterday and will probably be running at half speed this week as these meds are kinda kicking my butt. My doctor thinks it could've been from a mosquito - great! Thankfully the new meds seem to be working, they're just draining me of life. No fun!

Down With Stress

It's been a challenging weeks to be sure. You know how sometimes you just have one of those days? For me, it was one of those weeks.

Here's hoping next week is much better!

Say It's Not True!!!

In crappy news of the day, apparently my childhood crush is a woman beater.

WHAT!?!?! How did this happen? Is it true!? I mean, it must be, right? NOOOOO. I'm so upset. My hopes and dreams have died forever.

Meh.

It's been one of those weeks. This picture was taken after I'd been up all night with a skin infection and didn't really feel like doing my hair. 

The comments I heard at work were that it looked like I had antennas on my head and they didn't understand why anyone would wear this hairstyle. Meanwhile, I was in horrible amounts of pain. Luckily things are a little bit better and on the rise. Not all days/weeks are winners.
