An Ode To My First Car

As I've been in a bit of a nostalgic mood of late (just of late? Really?), I thought you'd enjoy seeing a picture of my very first car. If you'll look closely, you can see "Pinky" written on the window of the car. Don't be jealous. I loved this car and had many, many adventures in the little wonder bug. I think my favorite had to have been the day I was driving down a main road in our small town and ended up driving next to "The Purple Lady" who was this local legend in our town. I remember her even being on That's Incredible when I was little because EVERYTHING she had was purple - purple house, purple hair, purple lawn...well, you get the idea. Sometimes my mom would drive us by her house to admire the purple-atrocity and if we ever saw her at the grocery store all we could do was stare. Rumor had it she even named her daughter Violet (!). So, there we were, Pinky in the pink bug and The Purple Lady in a purple station wagon with a licence plate holder which said, "The Purple Lady." We looked at each as she drove by and we both just smiled and nodded. Mutual respect.
