Birthday Trip - Part Two

Day Two of our trip led us to do a bit of sightseeing. As we had nothing official planned, the world was our oyster. Well, at least the California coast.
After driving through Morro Bay, we headed up Highway 1 to Moonstone Beach which was a brand new place for me to see.
Instead of sand, the entire beach is comprised of moonstones and rocks. I LOVED it!
How cool are these rocks? We totally filled up some pop cans with them to bring some home (don't judge me).
I'm not sure how I never knew about this place before.
It's incredible! If you get the chance, I highly recommend checking it out.
Next stop? Visiting the elephant seals in their protected habitat.
I'd seen them years ago, but this was a lot more fun.
We stood and watched them forever and created entire storylines for them.
Can you believe there are about 15,000 elephant seals in this rookery?
Once again...all together now....awwwww.
Just hanging out with the elephant seals....no big whoop.
