The other day I accidentally stumbled across a DVD documentary about the search for John Hughes (before he passed away several years ago) entitled Don't You Forget About Me. Being forever curious about all things '80s, I was anxious to check it out and see what insights it held. What a delightful little treat! Not only did it have a plentitude of video clips from all my fave
films, but it had all these amazing interviews with the actors involved with the films (Judd Nelson, Andrew McCarthy, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, Kelly LeBrock, Mia Sara, to name a few) as well as words from great directors (Kevin Smith and Jason Reitman were among them) who'd been inspired by Hughes. The filmmakers themselves spent several years putting together what they called "A love letter" to John Hughes. I loved it. Nicely done!
