Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work

As if my holiday melancholy weren't bad enough, I've also been blessed with a horrible bout of insomnia to boot. I haven't been able to fall asleep these past few days until well after four a.m. - wahoo! Fun for me, right? Not. So, to pass the time, I've been using my Netflix instant app on my iPad to watch some instant movies. One such movie was the Joan Rivers documentary called A Piece of Work, which I'd been wanting to see forever. I can describe the film in three words: I loved it. Seriously, I loved it. As you may recall, I was also lucky enough to meet the comedy icon at Sundance last year while she was promoting the film. The documentary followed her around for a year of her life and it was so entertaining and fascinating. I loved hearing her stories, watching her work, and getting to know the stories behind the legend. I mean, come on - like her or not, the lady's a legend. I highly recommend this documentary to anyone who likes Joan, comedy, or just feel like seeing a well done film.
