Ruthie's Request

Ruthie would like it to be known that there's a girl who sits in my aisle (yes, the same one who was unable to remove her Christmas cards in a timely fashion) who has decided to announce to the world on her cubicle white board that "It's a Girl!" This announcement was followed by a name (which I'm withholding to protect the innocent fetus) and a make-believe futuristic BIRTH date (August 1st). Um, hi. First of all, I had no idea she was even preggers and have come to suspect she wrote this just to deflect the rumors that she'd gained weight. Second of all, it's March. The "birth" date is at least five months away, so I'm thinking it *might* be a wee bit early for this sort of announcement. I mean, sure, once you pop that kid out, by all means write on a white board and tell the world. But when you're only a few months along? Honey, no. Finally, who does that? I mean, really. I've never even seen her talk to a single soul, so perhaps she's just lacking social skills (well, obviously). Maybe I'm being too hard on her? Oh, who am I kidding? I'm going to have to look at that stupid white board for the next five months and I'm already filled with rage about it. Will she update the date when/if it finally happens? Inquiring minds would like to know.
