Celebrity Wrap Up - Saturday Edition

Hello and welcome to Saturday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up. Poor Jessica Simpson. Apparently she was sitting at home with her hair in a sloppy ponytail and relaxing in her purple Snuggie when she was suddenly whisked out of her house and forced to shop in front of the cameras. Hey Meredith - I don't really care if you like boys or girls.....but you should really try to stay out of the sun. You're giving George Hamilton a run for his money. Yikes. Well, hello, Jude Law. You are delicious. Yes, I would love to run away with you. Thank you for holding open the door for me. I'll be right there.Kate Bosworth is really depressed because she just realized she's got two different colored eyes.Nothing like being subtle, Rihanna.

Top Five LOL Cats of the Day

Shame Shame Shame

Unless you've been living under a rock the past week, no doubt you've heard all about Tiger Woods' bizarre car accident and alleged affair. Um, really, Tiger? Have you seen your wife? She's hot. Heck, I'd probably change teams for her. What reason do you have to cheat? And that statement you made? Here it is, in case you forgot:
"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."
Yeah, you look guiltier than OJ after they found his bloody glove. I'm just saying.

Color Me Stoked

Wahoo! Yesterday they announced the films which will be in competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The best part about the announcement is the list of the directors and cast members...can I just say hooray? In addition to Orlando Bloom (YUM), Justin Bartha (aka the cute funny sidekick from National Treasure), and Ryan Gosling (triple yum) being in films, I'm most excited to see the following actors being directors this year:Mark Ruffalo: I love you so. Now, while it's true that I did see you my first year at Sundance when you sat right behind me, I was lacking in photo skills and thereby missed my chance. Here's hoping I'll see you and get a picture this year. Josh Radnor: I adore you on How I Met Your Mother and cannot wait to see you in person. Your movie looks good, too (romantic comedies always make me happy). Perhaps you can ask Neil Patrick Harris to join you? That would rule. Bring on Doogie!Jon Hamm: You know I'm completely in love with Mad Men right now. Seeing you in person will most likely make me squeal (don't judge me). I can't decide who I like more - you, or your delightful and hysterical girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt. Please please please come to the festival. Make me the happiest person ever.

Pinky's Fandance, Friday Edition

The year I met Evan Rachel Wood was the year she was going out with Marilyn Manson (or had recently broken up). After her film with Michael Douglas premiered, she came off the stage and took pictures with everyone who asked (which, as we know, is my favorite thing in the world for a celebrity to do when promoting a film). She was very soft-spoken and nice.

Another Day, Another Blanket

I really am going to need to check into some 12-step program soon, as my crochet is, once again, out of control. I finished this one last night and have already started on my next. Obsess much? My cold, I'm afraid, is still just as bad, although I do seem to be "draining" now (class-y). I feel like I've been hit by a train. At least I look terrible to boot. I'd like to be able to tell you that I spent last night organizing my place, unpacking from my trip, and doing some much-needed cleaning, but no. It was all I could do to stay up and watch Mad Men (yet another thing I'm completely in love with right now) while being snug under my covers and crocheting. Oh, and talking on the phone. Alas, I'm afraid by the way I'm feeling now that perhaps I should've just gone to bed? Nah. That just makes too much sense.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Friday Edition

Hello and welcome to Friday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Holy crap! I didn't realize Christopher Walken had died. Oh, wait. What's that you say? He's not dead? Are you sure? I mean, have you seen this picture? Yikes.
Apparently, after Rihanna broke into Lindsay Lohan's leggings, she went to the local recruiting office and joined the military.
Remember when your mom told you not to use too much make-up? This is why. Is Jessica turning tricks on the side now?Just when he was getting the hang of it....looks like the messy hair is creeping back in.Speaking of messy hair, it was so nice of Channing Tatum to drag himself out of bed for this picture - bedhead and all.

Top Five Fails of the Day

An Open Letter to Meredith Baxter (no longer Birney)

Dear Meredith Baxter (you know, it's really hard not to say Baxter-Birney...I'm just saying): When I opened up my daily email from www.people.com and was greeted with this hot breaking news story: "I'm a Lesbian Mom" my first thought was: Just exactly how desperate for attention are you? I haven't heard your name mentioned in like 200 years and now you're coming out of the closet? You do remember that you were the Mom on Family Ties, right? Is Alex jumping off a bridge right now? I mean, we all knew your youngest daughter was headed in that direction, but you? Come on. Who wants to think of Elise Keaton as a lesbian (not that there's anything wrong with that.....)? Unless you're currently working (or have done something other than a Hallmark movie in 10 years), I don't give a rat's a$$ about your personal life, name change, or anything else for that matter. Now go back to being non-existent, m'kay? Thanks, Pinky Lovejoy

Pinky's Fandance, Thursday Edition

During one of the Main Street excursions with Hiba and Heidi this year, we came across Dominic Monaghan in a huge crowd of people. Being a huge Lost fan, this thrilled me to no end. It's Charlie!Somehow we were able to weasel our way through the crowd and get a picture with him. He seemed really nice at the time, although I'm not sure why he's making a crazed smile in the picture. Silly boy.

Karaoke and a Cold

Now, I can't be sure, but I think we've discussed the singing group I was in when I first moved here. We were called Vernacular Vernacular and we were kinda rocking (not to brag.....). Hey, it's not everyone who can say they've performed at Pride-a-ho (Gay Pride in Idaho, that is). Anyway. My friend Jinni, who was also in the group, had a birthday last night and wanted everyone to come out to karaoke like the good ol' days. While I wasn't really feeling 100%, I went out for a little bit to make an appearance. It was fun - I sang my signature song ("'Cause I'm a Blonde") and chatted with Jinni for a bit (she's a huge Duran Duran fan, so we were enjoying some Duranie talk).
Sadly, I was kept awake most of the night by an impending sore throat, which is usually the first sign that illness is on its way. Apparently going from California to Utah and back didn't agree with my body (it hates weather changes). Ugh. I'm trying to see how long I'll make it today, but it doesn't look promising. I'm exhausted....you know that all-over-want-to-crawl-in-a-hole type of exhaustion? Yeah, that. Of course, there's a girl who sits across from me at work who's really sick and has been coughing over the wall for the past few days. Coincidence? I think not. At least I don't really have a cough....knock on wood.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Thursday Edition

Hello and welcome to Thursday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up. OMG, I almost didn't recognize her (although the tights should've given it away). Is Lindsay actually smiling??? Speaking of looking unlike themselves, who knew Kate Hudson could glam it up? She's been so frumpy lately...I'm impressed.Oh, Halle. A vampire shirt? Really? How much of a follower are you? Plus, isn't that trend dying off?Nice of Britney Spears to get so dressed up for a night out with her BF.
Will someone please tell Ashlee and Pete that those hairstyles are NOT working for them? Are they channeling some goth couple? I don't get it.

Top Five LOL Cats of the Day

Pushing Daisies for Me

My brother and sister-in-law gave me an early Christmas present the other day and it's just perfect! The first season of Pushing Daisies and a new flamingo ornament for my pink flamingo Christmas tree. I'm so excited! They always pick out the best ornaments and this year was no exception. Thanks so much! :) Love it!

Pinky's Fandance - Woulda/Coulda/Shoulda Wednesday Edition

Speaking of LAX, I did have a good experience there years ago. While I was waiting for my flight to Italy, I ran into John O'Hurley (aka Mr. Peterman on Seinfeld). We had a nice chat in the McDonald's about his character and just life in general. He was really cool. Of course, this was long before I was skilled in the art of celebrity pictures, so, alas, no picture was taken. Sigh.

Why I'll Never Fly to California Again

I love driving long distances. If there's a choice between driving and flying, I'm almost always going to drive (unless it's to somewhere super far or that I don't know very well). I've driven between California and Utah approximately one million times in my life (only a *slight* exaggeration). I could make that drive in my sleep. However, sometimes I get tired of the drive. Having already driven there several times this year and then going again at Christmas, I thought it'd be better to fly for Thanksgiving. Sadly, I was wrong.Ironically, I thought the trip there (the day before Thanksgiving) would be the worst leg of the trip and gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport, get through security, etc. Of course, on that day I just walked right in and had hours to spare. The flight home was not quite as successful; in fact, it was one of the worst flight experiences ever. It started with both the check-in lines and the security lines being so long they went to the NEXT terminal. Then, I got behind some stupid princess who'd just won some pageant and had her face plastered all over her luggage, purse, button, etc (love yourself much?). It was awful. If I had to look at her cheesy, annoying face one more second I was going to scream. Plus, she had to take out her tiara and was slower than a snail. Once she finally got through the x-ray machine, the stupid mean airport guard chose me (me of all people!) to get a random search. Are you kidding me? At this point I had like ten minutes left to make my 7:45 a.m. flight and I thought I might lose my mind. I was wigging, but had hope that if I ever made it on the plane, all would be well with the world. Again, I was wrong. Not only did I have a huge man sit next to me so I couldn't move, I was on the aisle, and if people weren't hitting me as they walked by, they were stepping on my skirt. I've never been so uncomfortable in my entire life.

Needless to say, all future trips to California will not be via air. I'll be driving, so I have my own transportation and don't get searched, poked, prodded, and generally irritated more than I already am on a daily basis. LAX (and specifically the evil, mean guard who should have bad things happen to her): you suck.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Wednesday Edition

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.I will never tire of the crazed faces of all the Twi-hards in the background of Robert Pattinson's pictures. They bring me great joy.See, Susan, now you're getting the hang of it. Always always always use some sort of prop to cover up your face. This flag, though, should really be covering a little bit more of it. I can still see you.You know, I don't think Elijah Wood is necessarily bad looking at all, but standing next to Josh Duhamel is not doing him any favors. Uh-oh. Angelina must be worried. Why is Jen wearing Brad's hat? Well, at least he's smiling....and doesn't look completely dis-sheveled. Still, is Nic going to be able to stay in my Top Three? It's not looking good.
