I saw this on Inge's blog and thought it was fun:
My ex is ... still a major source of heartbreak for me.
Maybe I should ... clean my apartment.
I love ... sleeping in on the weekends.
People would say that I ... am a wee bit obsessive.
I don't understand why ... I can't mend my broken heart.
When I wake up in the morning ... I hit the snooze button a dozen times.
I lost my ... mind quite awhile ago.
Life is full of ... chaos.
My past is ... a little too much in my present most of the time.
I get annoyed by ... people who don't do what they say they're going to do.
Parties are ... fun, but I seem to go to fewer as I get older.
I wish life was not ... so unsettled.
Dogs are ... scary.
Cats are ... annoying.
Tomorrow is ... another Monday. Blech.
I have a low tolerance ... for stupidity.
If I had a million dollars ... I'm sure I would spend it all too quickly, despite having lofty goals of paying off all my debt.
I'm totally terrified ... of snakes.
My significant other is ... somewhere out there, dragging his feet.
My hopes for the future is ... to be happy.
Are Kirsten Dunst and Demi Moore united at the first meeting of Douchebags International?
Ooooh, McSteamy looks yummy delish. He can bang on my drums anytime. Wait, what?
When I was in 4th grade, I had a crush on a boy who loved Quiet Riot (specifically the "Metal Health" tape). Immediately I borrowed said tape to play on my ghetto blaster (don't laugh) and listened to it constantly, hoping my tastes would somehow change overnight and we'd both be able to love Quiet Riot together. In 5th grade, I liked a boy who loved football and I tried mercilessly to sit through an entire Superbowl so that I'd have something to talk with him about. Sadly, these habits formed early: When you like a boy, you like the same stuff he does. Isn't that how it works? Now, I'd like to think I'm a fairly independent, free-thinking person, but apparently, when in the presence of a boy, I'm still that same little chubby 4th grader singing "Bang Your Head" and hoping to be transformed in a metal-loving girl (flash forward all these years later and, well, I'm still not). Do we ever grow out of this? How much change is too much? In general, I think branching out and trying new things is good, right? But where do you draw the line between being true to who you are and just conforming to every schmo who comes along? Thoughts?
With a new scent, that is (did I scare you there for a minute??). That's right, on our shopping adventures last night I was introduced to a new scent so intoxicating that it *might possibly* temporarily replace my beloved Hello Sugar as Most Used Lotion in my house. A little known fact about me is that my absolute favorite scent in the whole entire world is Honeydew by Partylite candles. That's right, only from Partylite. I realize other people make it and I'm thrilled for them, but I only truly love the scent from Partylite. I've always longed to have it in a bottle and wear it all around and now, at last, I can! I'm so excited. I just want to smell it and wear it all the time. So far I only have the spritzer and the lotion, but I fear I'll be back at Victoria's in the VERY near future to buy up every last product in that scent (who, me? Obsess? What?). I'm so excited! I'm in love and want to shout it from the rooftoops!! :) Oh, crap. I just turned into TC.
Last night I had the rare treat of hanging out with my friend Denelle, who grew up near me and ended up marrying a guy from my home ward. Denelle's family lives in Logan and so, although we keep updated on each other's lives via blogs and FB, I haven't seen
her in a long, long time (maybe since 1994??). Last night she had some time to kill between waiting for her husband to fly back into SLC, so we took the opportunity to hang out. Not only was she able to meet Galoon (which, of course, is always a treat), but we ended up at my favorite mall and shopped 'til we dropped (well, maybe just shopped). It was a fun time, especially since she's a fellow Hello Kitty lover. Hopefully she'll be back down to visit soon so we can go back and get these Hello Kitty charm bracelets we were coveting. Then we'll be bracelet twinners! :)
Hi, Bradley. How YOU doin'? Are you on your over to my house? You are? Fantastic. See you in a few.
Wow, Kelly Taylor! Check out those puppies. Oh, the dogs are cute, too. :)
In honor of John Hughes, once again, I present this super cute picture of Molly Ringwald, John Hughes, and the one and only Jake Ryan. *Sigh.*
Holy crap. What happened to Sugar Ray? Why is he so skinny and old?
Poor little Ryan Gosling. Apparently he's in dire need of a nappie-poo.
Sad news in the entertainment industry today: John Hughes, director of such iconic films as Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles, died of a heart attack today while taking a walk. He was only 59. How many nights were spent watching one of those fabulous films....did I mention Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Some Kind of Wonderful? He was truly a mastermind and will be sorely missed.
As I've been in a bit of a nostalgic mood of late (just of late? Really?), I thought you'd enjoy seeing a picture of my very first car. If you'll look closely, you can see "Pinky" written on the window of the car. Don't be jealous. I loved this car and had many, many adventures in the little wonder bug. I think my favorite had to have been the day I was driving down a main road in our small town and ended up driving next to "The Purple Lady" who was this local legend in our town. I remember her even being on That's Incredible when I was little because EVERYTHING she had was purple - purple house, purple hair, purple lawn...well, you get the idea. Sometimes my mom would drive us by her house to admire the purple-atrocity and if we ever saw her at the grocery store all we could do was stare. Rumor had it she even named her daughter Violet (!). So, there we were, Pinky in the pink bug and The Purple Lady in a purple station wagon with a licence plate holder which said, "The Purple Lady." We looked at each as she drove by and we both just smiled and nodded. Mutual respect.
Last night we broke out of our Cindy Ree's monotony (as I've now reached my limit of Cindy Ree's) and went to my new fave place, Rio Grande. Unfortunately, the service does not even come close to comparing to the food. In fact, it was so bad that I had to call up the manager and complain about how piss-poor our service was. Yep, that's right, I HAD to. It was that bad. Although McB couldn't join us, we were joined by Ruthie's cute dad, Pete, which was fun. Isn't McP getting so big? I can't stand how quickly she's growing up!
Oh, Mariah. You're just so....kicky....young....and, um, spry (???). Using your child-husband as a prop is so cute.
Our favorite Bachelorette couple, Jillian and Ed, in all their glory. Could they be more adorable? I think not.
Lindsay! Take off Michael Jackson's hat immediately and put on some pants. Stat!
I just love Ellen and Portia. They just seem so cool and down-to-earth. If I ever heard Ellen was mean to her fans I'd be so disappointed.
Molly, you have a beautiful family. Seriously. Take your time to enjoy them because sometime very soon, I'm coming for you (life goal, remember?). :)
With all the high school reunions of late I've started thinking about my own reunion coming up. That's right; I'll admit it. Somehow when I wasn't looking, 20 years has snuck on me. I'm not really sure how because I'm fairly certain I graduated like last week, but alas, my 20 year high school reunion is a mere two years away. EGADS! Two years?!?! That's it?! I remember thinking at the five and then at the ten year reunions that my life was going to be vastly different by the time the 20 year reunion rolled around. And yet, here I am. Same ol' same ol'. Not much to report. Nothing exciting going on. Still alone, still childless, still working at a dead-end job, no happiness on the horizon (wow, way to paint a picture of my life that makes me want to kill myself, huh?). So, this is my wake-up call. If I want anything to change, now's the time to start, right? New life, new start, new me. Look out Future Pinky, here I come! :)
He's just a tasty little snack. Plus, nice as nice can be. Hot and sweet? Mark me down for a yes.
We all know how much I hate being tagged, but I'm in a chipper mood today, so why not? My friend Tawnia at work tagged me on her blog, so now I have to follow directions and list out some answers. Actually, I'm not going to follow the exact directions because it asked for eight things (eight!??!) and I'm only going to list three. See, I'm such a rebel. :)
Was Rumer Willis so busy coloring her hair that she forgot to iron her dress?
Now that Tuesday is *finally* over with, I'm in a much better mood. Of course, a good night's sleep always helps. I went home and relaxed, watched a movie, and went to bed early. I've also implemented my little trick to living without A/C (although I do have an A/C - I haven't pulled it out from its hiding place yet) - which is to sleep with an ice pack. For some reason, having the ice pack touch my finger or arm or head cools me down significantly. Whatever works, right? Sadly, I'm still rocking a little bit of a sore throat, but overall my spirits are much improved. Hooray! People don't have to run away when they see me coming. That's a good start! :)
