Carnival Birthday Party

My sweet little nephew, James, turns one this week and to celebrate they had a fantastic little Carnival birthday party for him this weekend.

Luckily Heidi and I were able to make it down in between the MOCA exhibit and the show we went to on Saturday night. Always great to see everyone. Enjoy the pics!

Pinky's Fandance - Jessica Pare

Jessica Pare plays my least favorite character on Mad Men, yet the entire season has practically been dedicated to her. I have no response to that.

Still, since I have pictures with practically everyone in the cast (except you, January! Why do you keep avoiding me?!!?), I kinda had to get a picture with her, right? Jessica was very sweet and kind - especially to the two old bitties who were taking 200 pictures right before me. Ugh.

Franco FAIL

I'm not sure if I told you, but one of the main reasons Heidi came out this weekend was for the opening night screening of James Franco's movie, Sal, at the Playhouse West Film Festival. James was scheduled to have a Q&A after the film, as well as on Sunday after a few of his short films played. Heidi LOVE LOVE LOVES James Franco, so it made total sense to come out and support him.

Sadly, James didn't feel the same way and didn't even make it out himself. Harsh. While we did still attend his movie (since we'd bought tickets), the best thing I can say about it is that we saw this amazing little squirrel on the way to the film. The squirrel rocked.

On Saturday we hit up the James Franco Rebel exhibit at MOCA. Um, I have one word for this exhibit: WTF?!?!

Heidi asked me what I expected and I told her a nice little tribute to James Dean. Hello, it was called Rebel.

Instead, there was a lot of blood. A lot of feathers. A lot of images I'd rather not see again.

Still, it was cool to see various signs and how they attempted to recreate some Hollywood locations. I'll give them that.

It's times like these I'm reminded that I came from a small town because I seriously felt very country bumpkin in there.

I *may* have run out of there screaming and crying. Possibly. OK, maybe that was just inside. But, I wanted to!

Pinky's Fandance - James Caan

Last night we ended up at Scott Caan's play because Heidi is a huge fan. While we were there, who did we happen to run across? None other than his talented father, James Caan. Score!

Of course, while most people would praise James for his work in The Godfather, I had to lead with my love of Honeymoon in Vegas. Obviously, he was super impressed. I think he might've been in the middle of saying, WTF?

I Can't Help It If I'm Famous

Two big things happened this weeked - well, starting on Thursday, that is.

First of all, my dear friend Heidels came to visit from SLC for the weekend.

Second of all, I got recognized by a few readers! Can you believe it? Little ol' me....famous!!! Oh, er, wait...let's not get carried away here....This is Brad, he was visiting from Australia.

These two cuties were behind me in line...yowsa! After I totally "pulled a Pinky" and basically told the one in glasses (of course....it's always the one in glasses for me, isn't it???) that I thought he was super fine (why not?), he told me that his friend (boyfriend?) in blue read my site. What now?! Two readers in one day? I'm the most famous woman alive!! OK, again, maybe getting ahead of myself.

Aren't they the cutest? My apologies for flaking on their names....they told me, but the blonde couldn't keep it in. Ugh.

Brad was even able to meet my super cute friend, Susan, who'll be going to Australia later this year...who knows...maybe love is in the air? :) LOL.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Sunday Edition

Oddly, Josh Duhamel in costume looks a lot more like what I always imagined Fergie's husband would look like.

Happy 50th Birthday, Nick Rhodes!!!

In a few short hours, it will be midnight in London, which only means one thing...my True Love, Nick Rhodes, will be turning the big 5-0! Can you believe it? How is that even possible?!?!

Pinky's Fandance - Lana Parrilla

As much as I love Once Upon a Time, I have to admit that I hate Lana Parrilla's character, the Wicked Queen. Of course, that's kind of the point, right? I mean, you're not supposed to like her. She's the villain. Duh.

In person, however, Lana is a total sweetheart. I've noticed how cool she is on Twitter and how she seems genuinely fan-friendly and not fake-fan-friendly like some people (ahem, Molly Ringwald, ahem). Not only does she interact with her fans all the time, but she calls them her "Evil Regals." As she was being rushed when she arrived and her people tried to tell us she couldn't stop, I made sure to drop in how we were her "Evil Regals" and she literally gasped and squealed with delight. She was SO stoked! It was awesome. Thanks, Lana!
