So, last night we rented The Amazing Spider-man in order to finally figure out the reason yet another Spider-man movie was released so close to the other movies a few years ago. Sadly, after watching the entire movie, I'm still left with the general consensus that I have no idea what the point was.
Did it tell a new story? Not especially. I mean, kinda. But, no wildly different. Did it have different characters? A few. Now, I'm not a comic book junkie or proclaim to know any of the history of these stories. All I know is that there were two movies out with similar themes and the second one just seems redundant. What am I missing?
