I recently ran into Adam at a benefit screening of Ides of March and had to get the picture with him to show my little nephew, Max. I wish Max had been with me to meet Luther - how great would that have been? Perhaps another day. Adam was super nice, despite having to pose with someone old enough to be his mother. Maybe he gets that all the time?
Great news! Beginners, starring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer, is finally on DVD. Hooray! I've been wanting to see it ever since it was in the theaters and I finally had my chance last night. In the spirit of honesty, I can tell you that my dad didn't love it as much as I did. In fact, he didn't like it at all, but then again, he wasn't really paying attention and the movie jumps around to various time periods. I always love movies that do something different and Beginners was definitely unique in its storytelling. Plus, it prominently features a little dog and they even show what the dog is thinking. I really enjoyed it. If you're in the mood for a moving story with terrific performances, check it out.
I'm not going to lie - finding out that John Cusack is not, in fact, Lloyd Dobler, broke my spirit a little bit. I was devastated. I was the first person to ask him for a picture after his premiere and he counted down the seconds. His exact response? "Fine, take your picture, three, two, one, go." Um....thanks?
This, of course, was after a neverending day of being sick at work, getting stuck in the Longest Line in the World at Wal-mart, and then two hours of traffic home. Ugh. Not a good time. Not good at all. Luckily, my insurance company allows for FIVE roadside problems per year....so, even though I JUST DID THIS a few months ago (stupid blonde hair), I got another get of jail card free! :) Wahoo!
1) I can't believe I've never heard of this. I've been wanting to do something similar, so I'm a little bent outta shape that someone stole my idea! I wonder what they do on this that's different from mine? I have to know! It's a DVD about Duran Duran fans! I must own this. Please, Santa. Hear my pleas.
2) Socks. Plain white boring socks. I know, I know, big snooze, but I've got bad feet and have to wear socks all the time. My socks are lame. I like these kind with the half ankles. Everyone can always use more socks.
3) In a similar fashion, undies are always good. I love these kind, called it-se-bit-se. They used to sell them at Costco, but I was able to find them online at http://frenchdressing.com/
4) I know we've talked about it before, but my camera is really, really sucking. I'm desperate for a new camera that can handle the amount of pictures I take. I think the Samsung Multi-view camera is up to the task!
I met Jeremy at Sundance way back in 2004 (as evidenced by the Sundance logo behind us). I'd loved his work on Six Feet Under and was super excited to meet him. I remember being surprised that he had a British (at least I think it was British) accent when I asked him for a picture. I never knew he rocked an accent! Hot stuff!
It's a weird cold. Sore throat, sniffles, cough, yes. But it's the neverending bout of sleepiness that's killing me. I walked Sammy yesterday and it took every last bit of energy I had. I couldn't even rally to watch Once Upon a Time and I love that show. Instead, I went back to bed. For the millionth time. Boring.
