Missing My Guy

Keith is currently flying to Ohio to film a movie this weekend and I'm already missing him like crazy. I've been crying all morning and, basically, since last night. I'm a mess.

He's going to be gone until Sunday and it's the longest we've been apart since we got engaged in April. I mean, aside from work, we pretty much do everything together (and that's the way we like it).

There's no one I have more fun with than him. I'm just so lucky to have found someone that is so awesome, kind, funny, sensitive, talented, and loving. When you're young and you hear stories of fairy tales, while you love hearing the tales, you don't really believe it's going to come true. But, miraculously, it did for us (it took its sweet time, but we finally got our Happily Ever After).

I'm so happy with Keith and cannot wait to become his wife in 16 days. Now, if it were only Sunday so he was back home with me already....

I know it's only a few days. I do. I just don't like being without him and want him to come home safe.

Pinky's Fandance - Zach Ward

While we've been lucky to count Scotty Schwartz (who played Flick) from A Christmas Story as one of our good friends, I'd never met anyone else from the iconic film yet.

Luckily, Scott brought Zach Ward with him to the show - as you might recall, Scott played the bully, Farkus, in the film.

So fun to get a group shot with both guys, my sister, and my love, Keith!

Top Five LOL Animals of the Day

Wedding License? Check!

It's been a dramatic couple of days in our household. After Keith had his name legally changed, we weren't sure if we'd be able to use it for the wedding or if he's also have to change it with Social Security and the DMV. I mean, at one time he even suggested we get "fake married" on October 26th and then do the real thing later. My reply? "I don't want to be fake married! I don't want to play dress up!"

Thankfully after a stressful night we learned that his name would be accepted, we were able to successfully get our marriage license with the correct names on it and all is right in the world again (well, except for that whole photobooth nightmare....).

As you can see, we were very excited and had to stop for a photo session outside the courthouse.

Pinky's Fandance - Bo Derek

Bo Derek is just one of those people who never age. She looks amazing and doesn't even look all plastic like so many other actresses her age.

I'm glad we were able to meet her at her very first convention ever. I remember staring at the cover of the movie 10 and just being mesmerized by her beauty when I was little. Here it is all these years later and she's barely even changed - well, the corn rows are gone, but the rest of her looks great!

Scammed! And On My Wedding Day!!!!

Apparently it looks as though we're being scammed by Rockstr Photobooths (yes, the "a" is missing on purpose) and I have no idea what to do. Months and months and months ago - long before we really even had a ring, a plan, or any idea of how everything would work out, I booked a photobooth for our wedding. Now, as anyone who knows me knows, I LOVE photobooths. LOVE them. Most of my teenage years were spent in various photobooths at fairs, malls, or anywhere I could find them, and having one at your wedding is just the greatest new thing ever.

Having a photobooth at our wedding is almost as important to me as the location, the pink cake, and the groom (well, not really, but I was trying to make a point). I mean, I was so on-board with this place that my dad paid the entire thing on his credit card in advance for a deal. I thought we were all set and just last week I did the final Q&A and provided all of the information for the event.

What could possibly go wrong, right? Um, only that they don't appear to be in business anymore. That's right, their phone number is disconnected, their website (which had the WORST spelling issues on earth...probably should have been a tip off) is down, and they're not replying to emails. Oh, great. So, they not only stole my hopes and dreams for our wedding, but they stole our money as well. GAH!

I really have no idea what to do now. I've found some other reputable photobooth sites with availability for the day, but how do we get our money back for the other one? I can't even imagine not having this at our wedding - I wonder what organ I can sell to book another booth?

Top Five LOL Cats of the Day

Halloween Sneak Peek

As Keith and I will be celebrating Halloween in Hawaii this year (can. not. wait.), I'm afraid we'll be missing all of the fun festivities going on here. Not only will I miss the big to do at work, but I'll miss Phoenix, Max, and Sammy dressing up and going around the neighborhood.

Luckily, we got a sneak peek at the costumes this year. Max, obviously, is a hot dog (we totally could've matched Sammy in his hot dog costume from last year) and Phoenix is a cookie. Do I sense some sort of food theme?

Pinky's Fandance - John Ratzenberger

As a huge fan of Cheers, being able to meet Cliff Clavin himself, John Ratzenberger, was a big deal.

While he was late in arriving, he was worth waiting for because it's been something I've been wanting to get forever. John was fun to joke around with and signed this awesome photo for me (when I find it, I'll upload it for you to see). Love him!

Popcorn For Everyone!

I have to admit we've been getting a bunch of really great gifts. Thank you to everyone who has gone out of their way to send a card, a gift card, money, or something from our Amazon registry - we are very, very grateful for each and every bit of kindness from our loved ones.

That being said, most of our registry is fairly practical - cooking stuff, pots and pans, storage stuff, etc. But this item was a wish, a hope, a dream. An old timey popcorn maker was the type of fantasy gift we could not only use, but also feature at our reception. And yesterday, that dream came true. I'm SO excited to use it! I'll bet it's going to be delicious.

Party Tasks

Big thanks to Lindsay for putting together a fun little scavenger hunt for the Bachelorette party the other day. Unfortunately, I wasn't really up to having to do more things on a "to do" list, as I'm kind of overwhelmed with stuff as it is. I know it was all in fun and I appreciate all the girls helping me to do as much of the list as we did, but I was way more of a party pooper than I hoped to be.

Still, I really appreciate Lindsay's hard work and it was a super cute and fun idea. I just wanted to enjoy the day with my friends and have one day where I didn't have to check things off a list. :)
