Desperately Seeking Corin Nemec

Earlier this week I received notice that none other than Corin Nemec, otherwise known as Parker Lewis from my beloved Parker Lewis Can't Lose, was on a list for an event last night. Yes, it's entirely possible that I squealed when I saw his name because I never see it anywhere (except my dreams). The bad news? Not only was the location in downtown LA (which I avoid like the plague), but I was going there alone, and it was during the fourth game of the Stanley Cup finals, which meant Traffic Hell. In other words, I must have REALLY wanted to meet Corin Nemec to subject myself to these circumstances.

Sadly, he never showed up. Well, that's what I thought. Apparently he did and I missed him. Curses! But, as I waited outside the stupid building, I started thinking back to where my crush on Corin began and it made me laugh. First of all, like always, is the baby-faced and beautiful Ricky Schroder (as you probably know, everything begins and ends with Ricky in the Land of Pink).  

Next up? My big crush on the insanely gorgeous and talented Nick Rhodes.

A few years later, Corin Nemec starred on Parker Lewis Can't Lose and the only thing I lost was my heart when I saw him. I feverishly watched everything he ever starred on and would love the opportunity to meet (and possibly interview?) him. Darn my bad luck this week!

After Corin came Jonathan Brandis, may he rest in peace. He was such a pretty face.

Lately, of course, my hearts beat for Chord Overstreet (who seems to be hiding from me, as every collector I've ever met has seen him...that is, except for me). Sheesh, look at all these pretty faces....someone has a type!

And here's Corin Nemec in a picture from last night. Kill. Me. Now. HOW DID I MISS THIS??!!!? I realize I shouldn't care, but I feel like crying to have missed him after waiting so long. Don't judge me.

Pinky's Fandance - Jonathan Lipnicki

Anyone who saw Jerry Maguire will remember the infamous line spoken by the adorable Jonathan Lipnicki: "Did you know that the human head weighs eight pounds?" Jonathan was the cutest thing ever in that movie and went on to star in Stuart Little, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, and Meego just to name a few.

I had the great fortune of meeting Jonathan yesterday at the premiere for his new movie For the Love of Money. He could not have been sweeter - signed and posed with everyone who asked. Very cool guy!

Happy Un-Anniversary To Me

Fourteen years ago today, I wore a white dress, carried a bouquet of pink roses down an aisle, and said "I Do." Unfortunately, twelve years ago in December, I signed documents saying, "Ooops, sorry, I guess I Don't."

I don't know why I have to remember the date every year or why it still bothers me. Seriously, some days it feels like I've been in traffic far longer than I was married. But, it wasn't a bitter divorce by any means, we're still friends today (in fact, I even sent him a "Happy un-Anniversary" text today, which he found funny), and, you know, it was my only marriage, which is a Big Life Event no matter how it turned out in the end.

From the time I was very young, I wanted to be married. Never in a million years did I think I'd get divorced once I did. By now I thought I'd have six kids, a station wagon, and a dog. Well, at least I've got a dog, right? Don't get me wrong - I don't regret getting married, because I think at the time it was something I needed to experience (if only to show me what not to do in the future). And I don't regret my divorce or any of my choices since then. Sure, there were some bad choices - OK, fine, A LOT of bad choices - but they all made me who I am today and I rather like that person (most of the time - although sometimes she can be a real b*tch).

I suppose it's nice to just look back and remember how far I've come - and realize I'm still trying to grow forward every day.

Pinky's Fandance - Michael McMillian

Michael McMillian plays an anti-vampire preacher on True Blood who, apparently, is now actually a vampire. Yes, it's as weird as it sounds. As much as I love him on the show, I really loved him on the now-defunct series What I Like About You as Amanda Bynes' boyfriend, Henry.

In fact, I totally forgot that Michael was still on True Blood since his character was mostly absent last season, so I was super excited to finally meet him at the premiere. Look at my face - I'm bursting! :)

This Feels Way Too True

I feel like I've had a few weeks (well, months) of just bad luck. Ever since I got back from being London's Most Wanted, I thought things were going to start aligning again, but thus far it seems like one mis-step after another.

Of course, I could just be tired.

Pinky's Fandance - Lenny Jacobson

Lenny Jacobson is ad-or-able. He's so great on Nurse Jackie and when I found out that he was starring in a local play, I kept meaning to go. For weeks. Then, suddenly, it was the last day. Fail.

So, I'm not going to bore you with the details of why practically every single decision I made yesterday was the wrong one, but suffice it to say that I screwed up. Thankfully the day was saved by meeting a few people I'd really been hoping to meet - one of them being Lenny Jacobson. I'd been waiting for so long that my BFF from Junior High, Stacy, actually went in and grabbed him for me. AMAZING. Here's a pic of me and Stacy. Always great to see her, too!

I'm not sure I've had a worse photo FAIL than when I got my picture with Jerry Seinfeld in 1994 and it came out completely black. If you squint really hard, you might possibly be able to make out that this, in fact, Antonio Banderas.
