Celebrity Wrap Up - Saturday Edition

Hello and welcome to Saturday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Now this is a Nic Cage I can get behind. Kudos for ditching the icky hair and regaining your status as my Number Two Celeb. Nicely done.
I'm fairly certain that if my mother was Demi Moore, I would NEVER purposely get in a picture with her (especially if you're afflicted with Jay Leno's chin). I'm just saying.I have no idea who this tall guy is, but I like that he could fit Pete Wentz in his pocket. How many animals had to die to make Paula Abdul's outfit?Well, well, well. Drew's actually looking fairly presentable. Who knew?

Ladies Who Lunch

Today I had lunch with my friend Rachelle, who is one of the two best things I walked away from my previous Lame Job with (the other being my friend Marisol). Since we stopped working at Lame Job (which was probably like five
years ago), we try to meet up for lunch a few times a year - at least for birthdays and Christmas. This time had been a really long stretch between visits, so today she brought me a belated birthday present. Isn't it awesome? It's a glass flamingo. I love it! We had a nice time, but I think we definitely need to shoot for having lunches a lot more frequently. Over six months is way too long!

Funny People Coming Soon

I'm so stoked. I checked out the Wiseguys Comedy Club website last night and discovered a flurry of awesome comedians coming to the area in the next few months. We've already discussed Kevin Nealon (!) coming in December, but they're also having Norm MacDonald, Doug Benson, and Louis Ramey (the last two were from Last Comic Standing). I'm so excited! As we all know, anyone from SNL is top notch in my book and I'm a huge fan of Last Comic Standing. Wahoo! :)

Pinky's Fandance, Friday Edition

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but Christie Brinkley is my BFF. Well, sort of. I've always thought she was the most beautiful person in the world (seriously, she's over 50....can you believe it?) and could never figure out why she's got such an unfortunate love life. Anyway, Hiba, Heidi, and I ran into her at Sundance this year and somehow wormed our way into the massive herd of people to get a picture. This is the first attempt at a picture. Notice the massive throngs of people surrounding us. OK, I'll admit it: I *may* have totally cut one or two of them off (hey, you need to be aggressive in those situations. You snooze, you lose). While taking the picture, I thought I'd tell her that I thought she was the most beautiful person I'd ever seen...hence the ridiculous look on my face. I'm like mid-sentence (nice that I took the picture myself and still looked silly). After the pictures were taken, we went on our merry way. Although I was stoked to get the first picture, I wasn't thrilled with the end result and wished we could try it again. As luck would have it, we happily came across her down the road a little later. I just had to get another picture, as the first one was completely unacceptable. I like the photo above because it looks like I'm hanging out with my BFF.The best part of the story was that she loved our matching shoes (as we all had on pink shoes) and we told her my name was Pinky after the first picture. So, when she saw me again she said, "Pinky!" See, I told you. BFFs. Plus, look at our picture. She totally loves the pink.

That Is One Busy Uterus

Holy crap. By now I'm sure you've all read that the Duggars are expecting their (wait for it) 19th child!!!! Some of us can't even be blessed with one and they're populating a small country. I read an article about them today which detailed their days from morning to night. The most disturbing part about it wasn't the buddy system (where an older child takes care of their designated younger one), but the fact that they homeschool. All I can say is those have got to be some socially awkward kids. And what are the parents doing? Oh, wait. I know how babies are made. Apparently that's all they do.
In some not-exactly-related news, Lisa Loeb is pregnant. This fills me with delight for the following reasons: 1) I love Lisa Loeb (as she's a fellow Hello Kitty freak and cute as a button. Plus, I loved her reality show when she was looking for a man). 2) She's 41 and 3) She's a cougar, having married a guy who's only 31 earlier this year. Hooray for Lisa! Congrats!! She proves that there's hope after all for the rest of us who don't choose to birth a tiny planet.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Friday Edition

Hello and welcome to Friday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Does Pete Wentz really have to make that face while wearing that hat? It seems a little redundant.Wow, Posh Spice almost looks normal. I love how her son is a little astronaut. Adorable.SJP....let's hope you're filming some sort of 80's flashback for the movie. Otherwise, we'll have to break up.Let me just say how completely and utterly SHOCKED I was to hear that LeAnn Rimes is divorcing her gayface husband. Shocked, I say! Flabbergasted!Seriously, did Halloween come early? First the Olsen Twins and now this? Is Annalynne McCord trying to be Madonna?

My Heart Beats for Nerds

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but I've got a total fetish for nerds. I don't know where it came from, but show me a cute boy in glasses and I'll show you a quickly beating pink heart. Pitter patter. Thump thump. Is it because they're shy? Is it because the glasses make them seem more intelligent? Was there some celebrity in my childhood who had glasses? I can't figure it out. All I know is that whenever I see a cute little nerdy boy in glasses I have the desire to become his Baby Mama. Oh, and no. I have no idea where this came from or why it's on my mind today. Just something I knew you wanted to know. :)

Question of the Day

As I'm not in the habit of lending people money (since I'm not really flush with fundage), I have no idea how to collect it. This might surprise you, but I'm not really much of a "tough guy." Most times I have a really hard time asking for what I even want, so trying to ask for something like money back seems even worse. AFMF borrowed some money from me earlier this year. Not a big deal, I figured he was good for it, and having him not stress about money anymore was better for me because I didn't have to hear about it anymore. Well, not only are we now broken up, but it's six months later and no money in sight. Do I write it off as the price to pay for being dumb enough to loan money to a boy? Do I hope someday that it'll just magically show up on my doorstep? Do I ask for it back? And if so, how? I'm such a freaking chicken bawk bawk. If I ask for a payment plan, then I'll have to see him more than once - and he shouldn't get that privilege, right? He hurt me, he loses on the wonder that is me (thanks, Inge, for the cute comic. How did I miss that one??). Still, the whole thing is bugging me. I could buy a new iPhone if he paid me back. Doesn't he know how important that is? :)

Decisions Decisions (Part Two)

Let's discuss my options for my latest award, shall we? These may be even harder than the last. Here we have not only an ice cream/yogurt maker, but in PINK. I like ice cream. I love pink. But, would I use it once and forget about it? Again, no room in my kitchen.I love how cute, tiny, and adorable this mini camcorder is. But, I already own a regular sized camcorder (that I rarely use), several digital cameras, and an iPhone. Now, a blender I actually need. BUT, no room in the kitchen. My hand mixer broke while M and I were making the Better than Chocolate cake, so this would be tremendously handy. But, it's another kitchen thing. Why am I so drawn to cooking stuff when I don't cook?I actually have a bit of a watch fetish, but I never wear watches. Go figure. But this is so cute!Really? A six-person fondue set? Would I EVER use this? I'd like to think I would.... Obviously I'm at a total and complete loss. HELP!!!

Decisions Decisions

So, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to order for these awards from work. I have the one I got yesterday and then a few older ones that I've combined for a bigger one (did that make sense?). Let's weigh out the options. These are the ones for the combined award. We'll cover the next one later. These plates are cute, metallic, and hot stuff. But, do I need new plates? Do I even use my kitchen?I like the idea of a digital frame. But, don't I have enough pictures?A baker's dream come true. But, will I use it? Where will I put it?How cool is this little game/activity kit? My fear is that it's all pocket sized and lame. Now, as we all know, I need another necklace like I need a hole in the head, but it's so pretty...how can I resist???The hardest part of all? If I pick NOTHING from this category and hopefully get another award someday, I can combine the points to get this dish set. And this is what I really want. Do I have the patience to wait? Hmmmm. I think we all know the answer to that.

Pinky's Fandance, Thursday Edition

Alexander Payne is kind of a big deal. He directed Sideways, King of California, and Election and he used to be married to Sandra Oh. He was at Sundance a few years ago as a Jury Member and it was awesome to meet him. My friend Jared loves him, so we went and talked to him after a screening. He was really nice.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Thursday Edition

Hello and welcome to Thursday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.There's actually nothing wrong with this picture - I was just so excited that Sex and the City 2 started filming I had to post it. I can't wait! :)
Only Josh Duhamel (yum) can pull off a purple bandana and not look completely ridiculous.I just saw an ad on TV for a new Ben Affleck movie where he's got long hair. Yum. Not sure I'm digging this almost-marine-like cut, but he still looks hot stuff.Did I miss something? Is it Halloween? Lindsay Lindsay Lindsay. If you want to show your cooter off so much, why don't you just pose in Playboy or something? Seriously.

Top Three LOL Cats of the Day

Best. Costume. Ever.

Darnit! I wish I'd seen this earlier. This would've been the PERFECT outfit for the Star Wars party! Drat!

Pinky's Fandance, Wednesday Edition

Have I done this one before? I don't think so - it's not on my list. Anyway, Paul Dano played the brother in Little Miss Sunshine (one of my favorites) and was in both There Will Be Blood and Taking Woodstock (as the boyfriend of the mystery girl, Kelli Garner). Like Kelli, he seemed rather surprised for me to ask for a picture, but he stopped and posed anyway. Cool guy.

Celebrate the Pink

Today at work I received an award for outstanding customer service. What an exciting day! One of my biggest clients sent in the following letter to my boss:
Per the message below, I wanted to take a moment to provide you with feedback on the outstanding support that has been provided to us by Pinky Lovejoy (*name changed to protect the innocent). The dedication she has shown to our company is more than noteworthy. From simple confirmation request to more complex situations that require further information gathering, she has always addressed each in the most prompt fashion. I have several requests that I receive from my field HR team where I require further information from your company and Pinky has always addressed immediately. This makes it much easier for me to manage the inquiries, ensuring that I have an informed HR team, which in turn results in a happy employee workforce. The thing that strikes me most about Pinky is her eagerness to help. She is always more than happy to help in anyway she can. I have dealt with other vendors in the past where I would dread calling for support knowing that the person on the other end felt as though I was bothering them. Pinky has always made me feel as though she values our business and her biggest priority is ensuring she provides the best support to our company which she has done without a doubt. I cannot emphasize enough what an asset she has been. You should be proud to have her on your team as I know we are extremely pleased to have her as our rep.
How cool is that? Now, of course, she didn't actually call me Pinky, but for the purposes of this blog, we're going with that name. All in all, it was really cool to receive such a great letter. Plus, now I get to select an award! If only I could decide what to get....decisions, decisions! :)

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Dear Rumer Willis: Cute dress, but please remember to wear your hair down at ALL times. Thankyouverymuch.
Dear Rihanna: Just because you're posing with a cartoon character doesn't mean you have to give off that "tough guy" pose. It's Tweety Bird for goodness sakes.Dear Brad Pitt: I see you're ready to work. I've got some projects you can work on at my place. Specifically in my bedroom. :)Dear Beyonce: Number one - I can see your bra. Number two - Why are you such a giant?Dear Adam Sandler: Just so you know, if I saw you out and about in a CVS I would lose my shizz. I think you're hysterical. Thank you for not bringing your kids with you.
