What's in a Name?

I think you can tell a lot about a person by the name they give their dog (or kids, for that matter). The names of the dogs we run into at the beach never cease to make me laugh. So far we've met a Princess, D-O-G (pronounced dee-oh-gee....get it?), Pinot, Dude, Earl, and Animal. Yesterday I read that someone wanted to name their dog Peeve (as in Pet Peeve - hysterical). As we all know, my beloved puppy, Sammy Nicholas Rhodes, was named after Sam Trammell... And Nick Rhodes. And, if you think about it, other than some name stemming from the color pink (which is hard to do with a boy dog), he really has the most perfect name. In the past, I've named my fish after Prince songs and cute boys - I had a Raspberry Beret, Purple Rain, Schroder, and Spade. I thought about naming Sammy Spade, but that would sound ridiculous (as you get dogs spayed....yep, doesn't work). I'm excited to meet more dogs and hear more names, since, apparently those are the only names that matter. Forget the owners, it's the dogs who rule the roost! :)
