Hitting the Big Time

I'm not sure if I told you, but Keith and I were "papped" (read: our photos were taken by paparazzi) at the Hollywood Show this weekend, which resulted in the photos being posted on both Wireimage and Getty Images.

This. Is. Huge. If you search on Wireimage for Keith Coogan, there really isn't all that much. And there really isn't much that's recent. That is, yet. But, he's way too talented to keep that talent in a box, so hopefully we'll rectify that soon.

How fun to get papped! Of course, it says, "Keith Coogan and wife," but no matter. I mean, that IS me, right? I can just answer to Keith Coogan's wife. Totally fine with me!

Pinky's Fandance - Gavin MacLeod

One of my favorite shows growing up - and where I probably got all my romantical ideas - was The Love Boat. No one was more important on that beautiful cruise ship than Captain Stubing himself, Gavin MacLeod. When I saw he was going to be at the Hollywood Show, I was thrilled! In fact, I was probably most excited to see him and Jill Whelan, who played his daughter, Vicki, on the show.

The best part about Gavin, aside from how friendly he was, was how he engaged with Keith when he heard that Keith had been on an episode of The Love Boat. Plus, when he heard that we'd recently gotten married, he kissed us both on the cheek and wished us well. So sweet! Loved him.

Park City or Bust

It's hard to believe that in one short week we'll be heading for Utah and the Sundance Film Festival. This will be the first time I haven't worked/volunteered there since the 2002 fest, so it's going to be a bit different.

Still, I'm thrilled to be able to share it with Keith and have the freedom to do what I want anytime of the day. Now, if only I could find all that winter wear we'll need to keep us warm.....I'm afraid my poor California-native husband is going to freeze!

What's so funny, girls!? Can I just say how STOKED I am that Girls will be back this weekend?!?! WAHOO! Can. Not. Wait.

Margo doesn't seem very stoked to have Meryl take a selfie with her. Buck up, Margo!

Top Five LOL Dogs of the Day

Sunset at the Beach

While I realize these may be mean pictures to post in light of the polar vortex (whatever the heck that is), I couldn't help but share these cute pics we took down at the beach last night.

We were trying to document my hair color while also attempting to get the beautiful sunset in the background. I'm not sure we were able to both in one picture, but at least we've got a lot to choose from.

Sammy was super stoked to run around the beach - he ran up one side and down the other. He had a blast.

Our flash would only work when it felt like it, so please forgive these less-than-stellar pictures.

Here's a nice bright view of the hair - I used a new color. It's a bit shocking!

I love how the light hits Keith's tooth and makes him seem gangsta like he's got a gold tooth. Makes me laugh.

Eureka! I think we've got it! Now we're cooking with gas...

Pinky's Fandance - Clint Howard

Another one of the shows I watched religiously growing up was Gentle Ben. Clint Howard starred as Mark, the son of a game warden, who has a tame pet bear named Ben. Although the show was filmed from 1967-69 (long before I was even born), I remember it running on TV in the mornings during the summer months. We loved it. Apparently we were into animal shows, because I seem to recall Gentle Ben being followed by Flipper, another favorite of ours.

It's hard to believe that little Mark was played by Ron Howard's brother, Clint, who is probably most famous for being in all of his brother's movies. Clint was super cool in person and loved reminiscing with Keith about a film they did together. It was a lot of fun to meet him.

See This: Saving Mr. Banks

The other day we were lucky enough to not only get to see a free screening of Saving Mr. Banks, but to see it on the Disney lot! How cool was that? I have to admit: watching a film where a majority of it happens in the very spot you're sitting seemed to make it a lot more memorable.

Of course, I think the film would be great either way, but it seemed especially wonderful because we've been watching a bunch of sad, racially-charged movies lately (The Butler, 12 Years a Slave, etc.), so it was a welcome relief to see a light-hearted, tear-jerker with plenty of things to make you smile included.

The actors all did a great job, especially Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers. I loved the film and recommend seeing it to anyone who is interested in seeing it. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Enjoy it!

Oh, wait. Apparently Anne wants to give him a run for his money. Although, to be fair, she's kind of channeling "I Dream of Jeannie" a little more than a homeless vagabond.

Nice born 'stache, douchey. You know what they said, birds of a feather flock together....

Skateboarding in a store??? While wearing a beanie and sunglasses inside? Way to stay low-key, Zac. I'm sure no one will possibly notice you now.

Top Five LOL Animals of the Day

Damn You, Hot Topic

Damn you, Hot Topic! What are you, following me around and looking in my brain? It's as though you knew exactly what to make that would make me want to sell my left kidney in order to buy your amazing merchandise.

The first problem? Adult apparel from The Little Mermaid. One look at this stuff and I lost my damn mind.

I mean....come on. A shirt AND a purse?!?! Who can resist? Let's not forget I have an Ariel tattoo. So, you can see why this line of merchandise would be a problem for me.

To add insult to injury, they didn't just stop there. No, no, they couldn't just leave well enough alone. Not only did they have stuff from The Little Mermaid, but they had a shirt from The Breakfast Club! On a related note, I *may* be wearing it right now.

And a purse, too! Honestly, they are trying to kill me. How did they know I have a purse fetish?

Oh yeah, did I mention the freaking Sixteen Candles purse?!?! Again, I say, damn you, Hot Topic!

They had a shirt with that same image from the purse above, but I rather like this one better. Jake Ryan, I still love you so.

Pinky's Fandance Celebration - Christopher Atkins & Kristy McNichol

It was an exciting time over the weekend here at Pinky's Fandance. Not only did I get to see the handsome and cool Christopher Atkins once again,

but he was sitting next to his co-star from one of my favorite films, The Pirate Movie, Kristy McNichol.

I met Kristy for the first time last year and our encounter was brief, but not exactly awesome. In fact, it was a wee bit disappointing as I was telling her how much I loved this movie and she kind of ignored me. Granted, it was her first show, so maybe she was just shell shocked. This time was much, much better. I started gushing again about the movie and said, "May-bel" like they do in the movie and she said, "May-bel" back to me. It was very cool.

Last time I'd forgotten to bring my DVD which Christopher had already signed. Finally I was able to get Kristy to sign it, as well!

The best part of all?! The JOINT shot with Mabel and Frederick (their names in the movie) while holding the DVD!!! How stoked was I?!?!?!

I was so thrilled, in fact, that I had to create a little collage to commemorate the experience. Don't judge me.

Pinking It Up

I got my hair did yesterday by a new girl. I'm not entirely sure of it yet, as I think I need a few more pink streaks on top and the blonde is a bit brassy for me. Still, I think I should just accept the fact that I'm going to have all-pink hair someday and that's how I'll be until the end of time.

Sounds reasonable enough for me. Think of all the money I'll save on touch-ups! Well, of course, there'll still be hair dye costs involved, but at least I won't have to endure the foils anymore. :)
