Look - There's Your Boyfriend

This was an ad that came up on my AOL tonight. Is that cat supposed to be my boyfriend? Um....I have no words.

Pinky's Fandance - Thursday Edition

Who didn't love watching Wonder Years growing up? Could a sweeter little love story be told about Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper? Several years ago at Sundance I couldn't believe my luck to have Danica McKellar (aka Winnie Cooper) randomly sitting in front of me at the Eccles theater.Of course I had to ask her for a picture! Granted, it's not the best picture I've ever seen, but hey. It is Winnie Cooper after all.

Crochet City

Despite having mountains of things to complete at home, all I seem to be doing lately is crocheting. I've made three of the cutest hats you've ever seen and an adorable baby blanket for Debra (picture to come soon). I seem to be unable to stop crocheting. Could it be some sort of illness? :) I snapped this picture of a lady at a Sundance party. I decided that if I went Crochet Crazy to the point of wearing shirts I made out in public, then I've gone too far and need to be stopped. So far, so good. In fact, I don't even wear the hats I make...I give them away. :)

Celebrity Wrap Up, Thursday Edition

Good morning and welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up (why did I just type in Friday? I'm missing an entire day here).Gwyneth Paltrow and Jay-Z are such a ridiculous looking couple I kind of wish they were really together. Why is Jay-Z dressed up as Mr. Rogers (or Bill Cosby)? Was Paula Abdul going for a Grecian Princess type look? Whatever she was going for, she missed the mark by a mile. Is her belt made of metal? It's like She-ra went to the Prom.Egads. I didn't realize Lisa Rinna had the ability to look any worse than she does with all that Botox and lip filler, but I was wrong. Nice purple eyeshadow and puffy hair. Yikes.Would somebody please give Mischa Barton a job so that she stops going out in public looking like a homeless person? Is that some sort of hippie hobo look?Beyonce's necklace appears to be choking her and what is the white eyesore on Sheryl Crow's dress?

Enough Already with the Media Saturation

OK, I've had about enough of this Chris Brown/Rihanna drama-a-rama and the lady with 100 kids. Can't we all move on already? Surely there are far more interesting things to discuss in the world than those annoying stories. Fine, Chris flipped out. Whatever. Move along. OK, the lady popped out 14 kids and is certifiably crazy. We get it. Now, I am going to post a picture of Rihanna because, let's face it, those tattoos are seriously cool and if I had any gumption at all I'd totally do that on my back. It's awesome. Don't think I wouldn't.

It's Too Much

I need to break-up with him. Yes, I know, we're not "technically" going out, but no matter. This is too much. I can't do this anymore. Not only did I go to bed crying, but I woke up crying, as well. What good is that? Who needs this crap? I forget what "strong Pinky" looks like. All that's left is this weak, mush of a person who cries all the time and feels bad about everything. I need to get my power back. How do I do that? And why is it that I'm sitting here trying to remember other break-ups I've lived through (even though I'm sure at the time I was convinced I wouldn't), but I can't remember any. Where did those bad memories go? I need some examples of being strong or maybe just some encouragement on what to do. I hate this! Help.

Pinky's Fandance - Wednesday Edition

The only person nicer than Judith Light (aka Angela from Who's the Boss?) was the person in her entourage (and by entourage I mean her group of friends) who asked me if I'd like to take a picture with her before I even asked. How great is that?I've always loved how much she snuggled up to me in the picture (as though we were BFFs).

Can I Trim Some Emotions?

I wonder if there's a procedure I can do which removes the amount of silly girl emotions running through my veins? I seem to be a veritable boiling pot of emotions lately and they range from hot to cold in 1.2 seconds. Where is my happy medium? Where is my consistent happy-go-lucky and occasionally snappy demeanor? Why has it been replaced by an overly-sensitive freak of a girl? I can't stand it!

Celebrity Wrap Up, Wednesday Edition

Hello and welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Oh, that shirt is so Raven. Trust me, Raven, with that hairdo I'm fairly certain you're not in any fear of paparazzi wanting your picture. Nice try, though.Mickey Rourke has certainly mastered the look of someone who's risen from the dead. I wonder if he smells like formaldahyde?Poor Kate Hudson. In her giddiness over reconnecting with Owen Wilson (lucky girl!) she apparently sat in a pile of her son's crayons. What else could be anointing her butt?I can't wait to see Isla Fisher's new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, but I think her daughter might just be the cutest thing ever. Look at those ears!Did Gwyneth Paltrow break onto the set up Top Gun and steal their aviator glasses?

The Dentist Can Suck My Left Tooth

Perhaps we should start this story with some history. Not to brag, but I've got good teeth. Always have, always will. I brush regularly and have had very few cavities over the years. In fact, the worst thing that's ever happened to my mouth is my broken left front tooth enveloped in a permanent crown (stupid roller skating accident). Otherwise, my teeth are perfect (well, aside from recent bleeding in my gums, but I'm sure that's normal, right?). So, I'd been going to the same dentist for over five years and he was fabulous - he cleaned my teeth every six months and always told me how great my teeth were (and who doesn't love being praised on a regular basis?). Well, about six months I switched dentists at my friend's suggestion (I think she got something for me switching and my dentist was farming his stuff off to other people, which I hate). Well, New Dentist seems to be ripping me off. During my initial cleaning he somehow found two cavities. Surprising, to say the least, but whatever. I had them filled. Today was my second cleaning with him and amazingly he found two more things wrong. Not actual cavities, mind you, just decay. Screw that. I told them I wouldn't have them filled, since I feel like they're running some sort of racket where they're looking for things wrong. Yes, I said that to them. Out loud (not just in my head). Why do I need to be told what's wrong all the time? While I suppose I can appreciate trying to be proactive, this is ridiculous. I'm not made of money to arbitrarily fix what's not even wrong. Jerky. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a new dentist now. Crap.

Why You Gotta Poke Me?

I don't understand the Facebook "poke" feature. Can someone please explain its purpose? I'm sure we've discussed this before, but I don't do any of that crap - I don't grow plants, I don't pass cyber drinks, I don't give hugs. The only thing I do is look at pictures, see what friends are up to, and play Scrabble. That's it. I don't need more things to do while online and I'm not sure why cyber drinks/foods/hugs are fun anyway (as, obviously, THEY'RE NOT REAL). A bunch of my friends play some Mafia Wars game...um, not for me. In fact, anytime anyone sends me anything, I block them from sending me something ever again. Oh yeah, I'm tough like that. Don't mess with me.
So, I've got a few friends who are rather fond of the "poke" feature. Are you kidding me with this? I can tolerate it *maybe* once in a great while. For those of you unfamiliar with the poking feature, basically when I log in, it says, "Dana has poked you. Poke back?" Fine. Whatever. Poke back. Yee-haw, that was so much fun I can't even stand it. Yeah, that's it. That's ALL it is. In addition to Dana, my friend Ahmed in Egypt loves to do it, as well. Fine, OK, once in awhile what can it hurt, right? Except Ahmed is getting crazy with it and poking me five times a day (yes, I realize that sentence sounded rather risque - get your mind out of the gutter). Last night Neverending Boyfriend decided to try to poke me. As if! He should know he's dead to me (again). If I had any gumption, I'd unfriend him, but instead I just deleted the poke. Take that! I'm so tough, right? :) Yeah, that's what I thought.

Floridians Love Cindy Ree's

McH's sister, Amy, and her husband Benton are in town visiting McFamily this weekend from Florida. It's been fun to meet them and hang out. Tonight we all met up for an early Cindy Ree's night so that we could show them just how fun Cindy Ree's can be. Despite someone being a *wee* bit late (cough cough), I think a good time was had by all. :)

Pinky's Fandance - Tuesday Edition

Olivia Thirlby seems like a fairly new actress. I first saw her in The Wackness last year, but she also played Juno's best friend (as a blonde) in Juno. When I asked her for a picture, she said, "Who, me? Why?" which I thought was cute. I'm pretty sure I told her she needed to get used to it and as it's been a year since we met, hopefully she's gotten a lot of practice! :)

OK, So I Overreacted (Big Shock)

So, apparently I've been completely overreacting about all things relationship-centric (but, as we've discussed, I have no idea what I'm doing so it can't be helped). I wish there was a way to get all the stupid crap over at the beginning so that it'd just be smooth sailing from there. Wouldn't that be awesome? Get all the nonsense out of the way up front so that we could just focus on having fun and remove the drama. That would rule. For now, I just need to stop worrying every second and try to enjoy the ride.

Celebrity Wrap Up, Tuesday Edition

Hello and welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Is it just me, or does Denise "I'll be right back and take a picture with you (except I lie)" Richards have a serious case of Crazy Eyes? And what's with the scarf? Angelina Jolie not only looks like a wax figure, but she appears to be trying to jazz up her dress by adding some superhero stripes. At least her dad was nice enough to accompany her.Oh, snap. Apparently Jennifer Hudson went to Wal-mart for her haircut, as well. Poor thing. What on earth is wrong with Penelope Cruz's posture? Is this some leftover side effect from dating TC? And I'm NOT digging the bangs at all. Ick.Joaquin Phoenix would like the world to know he'd no longer like to be referred to as a sex symbol. Um, what? Last I checked, Joaquin was never a sex symbol. Ever. His brother, River, heck yes. That boy was scrumptious delish. But Joaquin (or Leaf, as he was known in his youth)?? Not so much.

Where Are The Perfume Police When You Need Them?

I realize we've discussed this before, but I'm dying over here. The girl who sits in the vicinity of my cubicle has doused herself in her horrendous perfume yet again. They should provide gas masks to those of us who sit within smelling range of that atrocity. Don't they know I might die? It reminds me of my Freshman year in college when I lived with a girl who wore the most offensive perfume known to man (which, not coincidentally, resembles the perfume being used here). When she was away in class, I used to spray it out the window in hopes it'd be gone and the terrible smell would cease. No such luck. She came back from Christmas break with an entire set of perfume, bath soap, lotion, the works. Curses! Foiled again! If anyone has a gas mask handy, please pass it my way. Otherwise, I fear my demise is imminent....

This Made My Day

My friend in Chicago just sent me a little treat bag for Valentine's Day with this note. How sweet is that? OK, I may have cried (but we all know I'm far too sensitive for my own good). At least someone is letting me celebrate Pink Day. :)

Positive Thoughts = Happier Pinky

This should be my new motto. Enough crying, right?

Would Armour Around My Heart Work?

It wasn't necessarily a good weekend in Love Land and I don't see it getting much better. As I've mentioned on numerous occasions, I'm terrible in relationships and it just seems to be getting worse as the days go by. While I have seen him since The Crying Incident, I fear that it's the beginning of the end. Now, I suppose I could just be overreacting (who, me?), but I don't know. I'm tired of worrying about it all the time. I'm exhausted from all the analysis over what every move means. I don't even want to talk about it anymore (although, here I am, talking about it....) for fear I'll just start crying. Oh, and I'm tired of crying. Did I mention that? I wish we were back in the "no expectations" phase where every phone call was a complete and total welcome surprise. While I suppose there's still some surprise when he calls, when he doesn't it's devastating and knocks the wind out of me. I don't want to live like this. I'm on eggshells and at his complete and total whim. I need to pull it together and get a grip. I'm fine with or without him, right? Still, I think investing in a little coat of armour for my heart might not be a terrible idea. Do you think it might help?

Pinky's Fandance - Monday Edition

I saw Sarah Chalke at Sundance the year Zach Braff debuted Garden State. Apparently she was there to support him as well as Johnny Galecki (he played David on Roseanne), who was in a Slamdance movie. When I saw her at a theater she was on the phone, so I had to kinda wait it out until I could get the picture. After that I ended up seeing her all over the place and as an added bonus she walked by as we were filming Pinky's Fandance and has a little cameo in it. Fun times! :)

Love Shmove

I'm not sure if I'm feeling Valentine's Day this week, although I am happy about it being National Pink Day and all (unofficially, of course). I've had a relaxing day and gotten caught up on some shows and making a few Pink Day cards and a beanie. Fun fun. I think I'm going to try to go to bed super early (yes, I am 100 in case you were wondering). I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Celebrity Wrap Up, Monday Edition

Hello and welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.Was Miley Cyrus trying to look like a duck? What else would this dress be based on?Carrie Underwood must be into astronomy because she's got a whole universe on her dress. I can't decide what I hate most about Kelly Clarkson's outfit - her horrible hair, her slouchy pose, or how her Prom dress washes her out? All I know is that someone should've stopped her before she left her house. What is wrong with Sheryl Crow? Did she overtan? Forget to put on make-up? Is she orange? Is Taylor Swift into S&M? Why is she dressed up in chains?

Good Advice

The newest Postsecrets haven't been posted yet for the week, so while we wait I thought I'd post this funny note from www.foundmagazine.com:

Pinky's Fandance - Sunday Edition

My backstory to the Luke Wilson picture isn't really exciting - he was walking into his film premiere and I asked him for a picture as he was entering. He seemed nice enough and was totally accomodating to the picture request, which I always appreciate. The only thing I don't like about our picture is that there's a freaking flake of snow in my nose that looks like a booger. Don't judge me.
