Better Day

So, I forgot to tell you the worst thing about my computer change at work - the person in charge of switching out the equipment somehow knocked my Nick Rhodes frame off my desk and broke it. Fail! I came in to find my beloved trio of pics with Nick prominently displayed and found it broken on the ground. Bad mood activated on the spot! Thankfully, the grumpies seem to have left me and I'm in a much better mood today. I think I just needed a few hours to relax - I got home late all week running errands on the way home and barely had a chance to think. If I get home at 7, I still try to get to bed around 9 (yes, I'm 102....but I also get up at 4:30 a.m. to walk Sammy before work) and before I sleep I have to figure out dinner, walk and feed Sammy, pick out my outfit for the next day and, well, you get the idea. Last night I got home early and got everything done early enough to watch a movie, download some songs on my iPod, and just chill. Anyway, the important thing is that it's a much better day in Pink City, U.S.A. Hooray!

Nadia Bjorlin plays Chloe Lane on my soap, Days of our Lives and in person she's simply stunning. I saw her at the event for Galen the other night and she was very nice and fan friendly. Look at those eyes! So beautiful.

Watch This: Take Me Home Tonight

I knew I was going to love Take Me Home Tonight not only because I love the cast and it was set in the '80s, but they started the film with a Duran Duran song. Score! The film itself is a love letter to the '80s and I worshipped it. The characters were funny, the outfits were great, and at its core was a love story I cared about. I highly recommend this fun film with an amazing soundtrack - seriously, even if you hated the film (how could anyone hate this film?) you'll be glad you watched it if only for the vast array of fabulous music. Check it out on DVD!

Pinky's Fandance - Patrick Muldoon

The funniest part about meeting Patrick Muldoon was that for the majority of my teenage years, I had this really cheesy poster on my wall of four hot guys wearing tank tops and sitting on a car. I have no idea why I had this poster, where it came from, or how it stayed up my entire high school career, but it did. And Patrick Muldoon just happened to be one of the beefcakes on the poster. Later on, of course, he went into star on Days of our Lives, Starship Troopers, and A Boyfriend for Christmas, but I have to go old school and remember the hunk on my wall. In person, Patrick is a dream come true, plus he loved Sammy! Win-win.

Sometimes You're the Bug....

You've heard that old saying, "Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug," right? Well, this week I'm definitely the bug. It's just one of those weeks where everything goes wrong - starting at Cafe Rio on Monday when they charged my card FIVE times (I paid cash after their system wouldn't process the card....and then it did way too many times). This morning instead of my lunch, I grabbed the dog treats. And my dog leash broke. And I got a new computer at work and lost everything. And....well, do I really need to go on? The week's only half over and I'm in dire need of a nap. Or a break. Or just a hug. Something, anything, to make me smile. Seriously, no one likes Grumpy Pinky. NO ONE.

Shea Butter: WIN

As we've previously discussed, my feet are as dry as the Sahara desert. I don't know why this is, I just know they crack like the sand without water and it's hard for me to find anything to work. Recently I'd been using Crack Butter, which was good, but it ran out and I've been trying to get by without it. Bad mistake. Luckily, my dad had my best interest at heart (most likely after having to put Liquid Skin on the bottoms of my feet to try to help me be able to walk right before he left for Hawaii) and brought me back this miracle cure from his trip. Actually, it's from France, but he bought it in Hawaii and boy am I glad he did! It's 100% pure shea butter and I'm happy to report that I can now walk without problems! Wahoo! :) Thank goodness for his looking out because my feet were a sorry sight. Thanks, Dad! Now, if only my dog will stop trying to lick it off my feet.....

Pinky's Fandance Redux - Kevin Nealon

I'm fairly certain that my love for SNL is never going to die off in my lifetime, so I need to just embrace my love for each and every cast member. Specifically, the cast members from the Sandler/Spade/Farley/Schneider/Carvey/Myers/Nealon era. Those were the best. I first met Kevin Nealon a few years ago when he performed in Salt Lake City. As it had started snowing that day and I feared he'd be cold, I made him a hat. That day. At work. Because I'm awesome. Of course, I'm almost positive it was WAY too small after seeing him in person, but no matter. It's the thought that counts, right? Last weekend Kevin was in the same show as Ken Jeong and Lindsay and I were able to meet him on the way into the theater. Kevin was SO nice and even claims to remember the hat! He said he loves it and still has it - which is probably not true, but that's OK. I just love that I finally got a better picture with him. The background in the first one was horrendous. Who looks good with a yellow background? NO ONE.

Fruit Flies Are My Enemy

Long-time readers of Thinking Pink might remember a time not-too-long ago when I similarly lost my freaking mind over the infestation of fruit flies in my house. I went crazy with the bug spray at the time - in fact, I'm fairly certain nearby pedestrians overheard me saying, "Go ahead, make my day" whilst holding said spray in my hand and blasting every remnant of any fruit fly within a ten mile radius. My house was so full of bug spray I had to sleep at AFMF's house. But I digress. Once again, our house is overrun with those dreaded fruit flies. That'll teach me not to buy fruit. Stupid, freaking flies. I've tried every trick, set every trap, and still, they remain. Taunting me, annoying me, buzzing about me like they belong there. SCRAM, I say!

I'm seriously about to hire one of those places that tent houses just to get rid of them. Do they still do those anymore?? I remember seeing a ton of houses "getting bugged" when I was growing up...not so much now. Freaking pests. I HATE YOU, FLIES!!!! Hear that? HATE you.

There is only one day out of the entire year that I'm sad about not living in Utah anymore and that day was yesterday, July 24th, otherwise known as Pioneer Day. I'm fairly certain it's being observed today, which means thousands of lucky SOBs throughout Utah have an extra day off with pay today. Score! To everyone celebrating, I hope you're having a great day!

Pinky's Fandance - Galen Gehring

There are few things in this life hotter than Galen Gehring - he could start a fire just by looking at it. Come on - look at his hotness. It's ridiculous. Does he even realize how beautiful he is? Because he's like crazy hot. Even Sammy can't stop but stare. Galen's got my dog mesmerized, I'm telling you! It doesn't get much hotter than that. As an added bonus? He's super nice. I met him the other night after he hosted an event at the Acme theater and he was as cool as can be. Plus, he let me take another picture after I cut off his head. Score! :)
