I came home for lunch the other day to find Sammy watching TV in my spot on the couch. Normally he sits on the other, longer couch.

"Sammy, are you sitting in my seat?"

Look at that sweet little face. I'm not even mad. :) Plus, apparently he can use the remote! LOL.

Top Five Holiday FAILS of the Day

See This: The Shape of Water

There's no other way to say this, really, The Shape of Water is a true masterpiece.

Going into the screening, of course we knew it'd be good, and we'd most likely enjoy it, but we were so blown away the film we fell instantly and totally in love with it.

The story is about a mute girl, Elisa, who works as a maid in a NASA type place where they house "the asset" which is basically an amphipian man form that is also unable to communicate with words. Their chemistry is off the charts amazing and you find yourself rooting for them the entire time.

Every shot is perfect. Every word is great. Michael Shannon is an extraordinary bad guy. The film is a beautiful, wonderful masterpiece. Richard Jenkins is also great as her best friend, as is Octavia Spencer as her best work friend. Hats off to Guillermo del Toro and everyone involved in this spectacular ocular delight.

Pinky's Fandance - Sally Hawkins

I've always been drawn to Sally Hawkins' work - she's so effortlessly talented and mesmerizing onscreen.

I finally had a chance to meet her last night at a screening for The Shape of Water and she was phenomenal in the film. I was so excited to meet her afterwards and I know the picture isn't my finest work, but she's in it so I'm happy.

Brighter Blonde for Winter

To combat those winter blues, we added some blonde to my hair this weekend and to feel human again, I added a little pink to the tips.

Full disclosure: My hair is pissed. Boo. Wish it would stay like this, though. I really love the colors.

New Year's Eve Feast

My husband is an amazing cook. Considering I can barely boil water, I'm incredibly lucky in that regard. I'm also lucky because he shares my disdain for going out on New Year's Eve, so we like to have a quiet night in where he makes us an amazing feast. Last year we were at a convention and missed doing it, but this year we returned to our tradition.

Behold, our magical feast. Filet mignon, mushrooms, baked potato, corn, oh, and lobster tails. No big whoop. If I posted a picture of our chocolate pie dessert, then you'd really be jealous. Thanks, babe, it was the best!

Star Wars with the Fam

On Saturday afternoon, we took a family trip to the movie theater to see The Last Jedi as a family. Considering we also saw The Force Awakens together, I thought it was pretty neat to get to see it all together again.

Phoenix always laughs at me for trying to get the family shots, but how often do we get everyone together in the same spot? Take advantage of the opportunity while you can!

After the movie, Zane wanted to show off his kitty cat.

I've been a fan of his for the longest time and his kindness just made me even more of a fan. So stoked to have finally met him!
