Kidco

I'm not sure why, but I'd never even heard of the film Kidco before Keith told me how our friend Scotty Schwartz (who stars in the film) was super proud of it.

As luck would have it, they've been airing Kidco lately so we were finally able to check it out.

What a fun movie! It's about an entrepreneur kid (played by Scott) who comes up with a way to make money selling fertilizer.

The film is filled with humor, warmth, and a lot of great schemes. Fun for the whole family!

Pinky's Fandance - Chris Pine

Although I've been lucky to meet Chris Pine in the past, I'd never seen his with this sexy beard before.

Chris was the Honorary Chair at the John Varvatos Stuart House event and was great about posing with fans. Thanks, Chris!

Family Resemblance

We found this amazing collage of my dad's pictures from growing up and have been having fun looking at them and comparing them to our own pictures.

This is probably the closest comparison I could find, although there are plenty more. Guess we've got a bit of a family resemblance? :)

Pinky's Fandance - Dinah Manoff

Another person I was really excited to meet this weekend was Dinah Manoff, who played Marty on Grease.

She was such a sweetheart! We had a lot of fun chatting with her.

The best part, of course, was the amazing autograph she signed. Love it!

No Plan Weekend

I'm so excited not to have any set plans this weekend. The past few weeks have been super busy and we could totally use some down time. Perfect time to relax before we start up with all the plans again.

Aside from seeing a free screening of The Avengers tomorrow, the only thing on our agenda is to clean the apartment. Fun stuff!

My girl Heidels is coming to stay in a few weeks and we need to be sure everything is in order before she visits.

This means we'll need to clean ALL the things!

I'm actually looking forward to it. Our messy clutter right now is driving me a bit batty.

Awesome 80's Podcast

Last night my talented hubby, Keith Coogan, was a guest on the Awesome 80's Podcast. What a great time he had! He was on the show before (I think for their first show) talking about Adventures in Babysitting, but last night they broke down the film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.

Pinky's Fandance - Yaphet Kotto, Veronica Cartwright, & Tom Skerritt

Keith is a huge fan of the movie Alien, so this photo op made him super stoked.

I mainly wanted Tom Skerritt, but he wasn't doing pictures at his table (which is weird), so we had to go and do it all together. Whatever. I thought Tom would be impressed by my love of his film Silence of the North. He wasn't. Oh, well.

Shonda Still Sucks

I'd like to say that after a week to mourn the loss of McDreamy (yes, I'm quite aware he's only a TV character; shut up), I was feeling a lot better about the show and looking forward to what lies ahead.

But after a week, I was still pissed at the sloppy way they handled McDreamy's exit. I started to think that watching his funeral would help (since I don't recall seeing many funerals in the past on the show), but, alas, the whole TEN SECONDS of funeral they showed us really didn't help much at all.

In a bizarre time-jump episode, they bored us to tears with a stupid debate between Bailey and her hot hubby, while also driving us crazy with that idiot Amelia (who does NOT work on this show. She was fine on Private Practice, but I hate her character here). We barely saw Meredith at all the first hour.

I'm sure they skipped over the funeral so that they'd be able to avoid the whole, "Why isn't Cristina there?" tirade that'd be coming afterwards. But, they missed another opportunity for closure and that's truly a shame. As I said last week, if they had to kill McDreamy, fine, whatever. But we all deserved better than the crappy way they did it.

At this point, I'd be fine with the series ending after next season. We've all lost our happy endings anyway; what is there to look forward to?

The characters who are left are missing the heart, passion, and humor that led me to fall in love with the show to begin with. So, for all I care, it can just end. Why continue to ruin what used to be a good thing? You suck, Shonda. I hate you.
