Insomnia City

Bad news, you guys. You know how I thought I couldn't sleep because I was just hot? Apparently that's not my problem. Wanna know how much sleep I got last night? ZERO. All together now, "BOOOOOO!!!!"

The problem with realizing you've got insomnia is that from that point on, all you do is worry about not being able to fall asleep. Which, of course, is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Once I realized I was totally cool and comfortable, I was faced with the even worse realization that I had insomnia. Again.

It could be all the chaos in our house that's keeping me away from Dreamland. It could be all the thoughts circling my head on all we have left to do. It's probably just me worrying about having insomnia. Oh, the dreaded circle-back!

Let's hope tonight is a better night. Especially since I can sleep in tomorrow. That's got to mean a good night's sleep for sure!

Pinky's Fandance - Linden Ashby

I was so excited to see Linden Ashby the other day, especially since it was a total fluke. In fact, I've never seen him on anything since he was on Melrose Place back in the day (apparently he's on Teen Wolf now).

Linden is exactly the way you wish every celebrity would be - he's kind, cool, and collected. He said yes to every request and seemed very genuine and sincere. Very impressive!

New Cheesy Addition

Although I'm trying to keep the majority of my cheesy things limited to within our bedroom (where it's going to be solely devoted to me and Keith), I'm afraid one cheesy thing made its way into the living room (where it fit perfectly on the wall).

Isn't it awesome? I've always loved that quote.

While I was at it, I thought I'd take a pic of how the room is looking. Coming along nicely if I say so myself. Now if only the rest of those darn boxes would unpack themselves......grrr...

Top Five LOL Dogs of the Day

Too Hot to Sleep!

Here's something I never knew about LA before I lived here - it's freaking HOT! And not just during the day - it's roasting at night, too! Perhaps I've just been spoiled living by the ocean, but I'm dying right now at night. For the past four nights, it's been too hot to sleep. I lay awake all hours of the night praying that our ceiling fan had a mister or something on it to make it cooler. The good news is that we do have an A/C in our front room (but, of course, I hate to turn it on because of how much electricity it takes to run. I'm a cheap bastard), so that helps when we're watching TV out there. But at night, in our room, it's another story.

Apparently there are certain tips I can try to help stay cooler before bed, like putting ice near our fan to make it more like an A/C, or putting our sheets in the freezer. Last night I turned on a different fan in addition to the ceiling fan, so we're really keeping that air swirling around in there. Of course, it doesn't help to have a little furball pressed up against me - that's making me roast even more! Hopefully I'll find some relief soon - I'm a walking zombie right now. Blurgh.

Pinky's Fandance - Shari Headley

Shari Headley was leaving an event just as we were arriving the other day. It's so funny because as soon as I saw her, I recognized her, but I couldn't place what I knew her from. But she was SO familiar!

Turns out she was Eddie Murphy's love interest in Coming to America back in the day! DUH!!! Now I can totally see it! So stoked I didn't doubt my "spot." :)

Watch This: The Leftovers

Last night Keith and I watched the premiere episode of HBO's new engaging drama The Leftovers. All I can say is, "WOW!"

We haven't been that captivated and curious about a show's direction since, well, probably Lost back in the day (yes, ladies and gentlemen, I married a Lostie).

We stayed up long after it was over and discussed what was going on with it, where it could go, and about our predictions. It was exhilarating.

The show has an amazing cast and enough mystery to keep us on board for the duration of the show. Bring it on, HBO! Great job.

I probably should comment on the fact that she's missing her pants, but I'm only looking at her awesome hair - maybe I should do my roots purple? Looks so cool!
