You Can't Be Serious

In the "You Can't Be Serious" / Things I Hate category of the day, let's talk about RSVP'ing to a wedding. First tip: If you're invited to a wedding, YOU SHOULD RSVP. Even if it's a NO. Just give an answer. Be polite. The couple obviously cared enough about you to invite you; the least you can do is RSVP an answer.

Second tip: If, for example, you don't RSVP and the wedding is rapidly approaching and the bride has to hunt you down to see if you can come or not, don't give an answer that will make her wonder why she invited you at all....or even why she's friends with you. For the love of God, make up an excuse. Family emergency, medical procedure, whatever. MAKE SOMETHING UP.

What prompted this rant, you ask? The other day I had to hunt down one of my oldest friends (which I shouldn't have had to do in the first place) and was rewarded by receiving the "I can't make it to your wedding because I'm getting my car smogged that day." ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?! It's bad enough that I've heard several medical reasons (which, of course, are unfortunate, but understood), an "I'm moving earlier that week," and three Halloween carnival excuses, but now this? Are you for real? Just make something up. It's not that hard.

Pinky's Fandance - Brett Cullen

Brett Cullen has that "every man" type quality onscreen and I was super stoked to meet him in person.

True to type, he told us about his wild night in Vegas the night before and how tired he was that morning. Super cool guy!

Flight Status

It's no secret that I hate to fly. I especially hate being separated from my true love, Keith, and having to be nervous while he flies across the country. Luckily, I'm able to view his progress on the united.com flight tracker. Somehow it calms me down to see everything about the plane he's on and where it's been before.

This is a picture of the flight that's en route to pick him up in Cleveland and bring him home to me. So far today it's been early on all of its departures and arrivals, which makes me happy. Can't wait to see my guy!

Pinky's Fandance - Dana Sparks

Dana Sparks played the mom on Passions, which was one of the soaps my sister and I loved to watch.

As expected, she was super nice in person and seemed to LOVE my name since it went with my pink polka dotted outfit. So cool!

Fondue For Everyone!

OK, I admit it: We shamelessly put things on our wedding registry that we thought might be fun at our reception. The old-timey popcorn maker was one thing, and this awesome chocolate fondue fountain was the other.

Happily, both arrived this week! Now my friend Clarissa says we shouldn't do the fondue fountain because kids will stick their fingers in it, but I'm probably still going to brave it. We'll just keep it in the center of the table. Problem solved! :)

Pinky's Fandance - Mischu

My sister was really excited about meeting adorable little Mischu at the Hollywood Show. Who wouldn't be excited? He's the sweetest!

Obviously, he was a pretty big fan of hers, too!

I love that he changed up his outfit this time - mixed up the yellow tux for a black one. Stylish! :)

Dreaded Dentist

At long last, I finally have insurance again. Hooray! What does that mean? Dental visits! Aside from the cavity I had a few months back, I haven't been to the dentist in, well, let's just say AWHILE. I mean, like years....(don't judge me). 

The good news? I have a new dentist and I really liked him. Although very, very thorough, he was nice and funny and made me laugh. I'll definitely go back. The biggest surprise of all? NO cavities! Say what?!!?! Shocking!

The bad news? Apparently I have the beginning stages of gingivitis, which means I have to get my teeth cleaned not once, but twice. UGH. No fun! Looks like it's a fixable thing, though, and he's even going to put a thing on my tooth for the wedding so that the gap I hate isn't so prominent. WIN!
