If anyone has an influx of pain medication they'd like to float my way, I'll be forever grateful. Until then, I'll be scooting down the hallway, holding my breath, cursing my aching back. In other words, acting my age.
Martha also owns the cool restaurant where the Days of our Lives fan event was being held, so she had double duty that day! I wasn't sure we'd be able to get her attention, as she was running all over the restaurant helping people, but finally we caught her eye and she came right out. Martha was as sweet as can be and her restaurant looked great. I'll definitely have to go back and eat there sometime.
I've seen light days, sure, but there's always a slowdown somewhere. Nope, not yesterday. Not only did I have clear sailing, but I was able to pick up dinner and hit the post office and still got home earlier than normal. In fact, I'd even walked the dog by the time my favorite part of Family Feud came on (which is Fast Money, in case you were wondering. I like to watch how stupid people are when answering the easiest questions in the world). It was a joyous occasion...one which will most likely never be duplicated again. Sigh.
So, are they changing the name of the show to Two Guys & a Homeless Bum?
So, what did I actually end up doing? Nothing. Zilch. Zero. With the exception to our failed trip to the closed down restaurant, Sammy and I stayed extremely close to home. And by extremely close to home, I mean that it's a miracle we left the house at all - and except for his twice-daily walks and to venture out for a bite here and there - we were swallowed up by my bed or our new couch (my sister scored us a new couch from her neighbor - hooray!). Add to the mix that my phone reception now sucks at my house, so I wasn't really even on the phone. I was lounging about doing who knows what. Apparently my body needed the rest. Or, I was in an accident that I don't know about that left me in a partial coma. I suppose that's an option, as well.
Once I got to work, I was feeling fairly inspired as I've been working on this project that I'm super excited about - I don't want to go into too much detail, but it's a documentary I'm trying to make. This weekend I was able to locate a few of the subjects I'd like to interview and I was super stoked about one of them writing me back. Sadly, today, she wrote again and turned me down. And I guess it was a long shot to begin with, but honestly, when I thought up this idea long ago, it never even occurred to me that anyone would say no. Call me naive, call me an eternal optimist, but I thought the challenge would be in tracking the subjects down, not in convincing them to do it. So, now I'm crying at my desk like a big ol' softie.
Yes, Zac, I will run away with you. I will have your children. We will live happily ever after.
I'm not sure if I've ever told you this before, but I'm not a huge Mexican food eater. Don't get me wrong, I like it fine, and I'll definitely enjoy it from time to time, but it's not something I'd eat every day. I pretty much have to be in the mood for it. Well, for whatever reason, I haven't only been in the mood for it lately, but I've been craving a cheese enchilada like it's the last thing to eat on earth. Finally, after a week of unsuccessfully finding a suitable cheese enchilada, my dad took me to this restaurant in town called Acapulco.
This place was AMAZING! Good food, good atmosphere, good margaritas, and a carne asada that left your mouth on fire in a good way. Last night we decided we'd try it again, as we were both dreaming of the carne asada. I tried to order take-out, but no one answered. So, got ready and drove all the way there only to discover THEY'VE CLOSED. Not just today, not just this week, but forever. WTF?!?! They couldn't have let us know last week? Fail! We ended up going to another Mexican restaurant, but their carne asada didn't even come close and the service left a lot to be desired. At least they had a good cheese enchilada! :)
I've had him in a super cute pink crate that he loves, but he's just too big for it now. Every morning he stretches as soon as he gets out and I think he's just so uncomfortable.
This is the new brand new crate...not very fancy, but at least it fits him perfectly!
I found this idea online to jazz it up a bit...I'm totally going to have to do that!
Cowboy boots for a bike ride? Really? Not my first choice, but OK....
Hooray! Do you hear those yells? It's the world rejoicing for Beyonce's brown hair.
Sweetest. Picture. Ever.
Um, what happened to Dakota's face? She's such a pretty girl...maybe it's just a bad angle.
