Can I just tell you how much I'm loving my new iPod speakers for my bathroom? Well, I guess they can be used anywhere in my place, but listening while taking a shower makes it the most fun of all. I dance and sing like a crazy person. I'm probably driving my neighbors nuts, but who cares? It certainly makes for some pleasant and enjoyable shower time! :)

Slip Sliding Away

Celebrity Wrap Up, Sunday Edition
Good morning and welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
When I look at this picture of Jay Mohr and his wife, Nikki Cox several things enter my head: 1) What happened to Jay's hair? 2) When did shiny sternum become all the rage? 3) Is that a real person he's standing next to, or just a mound of Botox? 4) Seriously, I think I can see her heart beating in her chest 5) What the hell happened to her face? She used to be attractive (remember, she was on the NBC show Las Vegas).
Oh, Lake Bell. Somewhere out there, the Tin Man is naked.
Did Scarlett miss her Prom? Or was she just dying to wear an 80's prom dress out of the house one night? Egads.
I had no idea that underneath his sexy exterior Robert Downey Jr. is just a middle-aged man waiting for the Early Bird Special. 
Would somebody please contact the authorities immediately? Someone has taken Kelly Clarkson and mixed her up with Jessica Simpson. We need to get this remedied stat!

Does She Own a Mirror?
Somebody needs to have a sitdown with Mariah Carey because she's leaving the Crazy Town terminal and entering the capital of Looney Tunes. What is with her ridiculous outfits of late (which are MATCHING, no less)?!? I'm starting to think she only wanted to get married so that she could have someone carry her dog and match her outfits. Several years ago, John C. Reilly was a juror in the Festival. From how he seems on his movies, I thought he was going to be super nice and fun. I kept missing him the entire festival, but then at the Closing Party I saw him in the lobby. 
When I approached him for a picture, he grumbled and said, "Fine, but you're the last picture I'll be taking today!" Um, OK. Every time I see the picture I think about how unwilling he was to take it (but at the same time, at least he took the picture). Yes, I realize it's not the best or most interesting story, but I have a method to my madness. This is just setting the scene for my next story. :)

Girls Day Out
Beginning bright and early at 8:28 a.m., it's been a long, but really fun, day. As the roads were slightly better today, I ventured down to Utah County to meet my sister, niece, and mom for a day of shopping and lunching - an all-around Girls Day Out. We started off at Shopko to find some snuggly jammies and then headed over to Wal-mart for Phoenix's iPod shuffle (a pink one, of course), which was her Christmas dream. As we all had a little bit of Christmas Cash to spend, we thought it'd be fun to do it together. In preparation for the upcoming Film Festival, I stocked up on some of the yearly essentials: a scarf, a hat, some pink thermals, and, of course, some Hello Kitty earmuffs. :) 
After Wal-mart, we headed over to the Training Table for a delicious lunch. Then, we went to the University Mall to fight the throngs of crazy shoppers (most of which were also probably house-bound yesterday and therefore insane today). Also, Phoenix got her ear (re) pierced (as one of the holes got infected and closed up). She was very brave and did great! :)
After all the shopping was done, Spens drove back to SLC with me so we could hit up another store. Then, we went over to McFamily's so that Adam could see if he could help with their floor (and so Erin could finally meet McP). I love the look on McP's face in this picture. Too funny!

Extra White Christmas
I don't know why I didn't mention this yesterday, but we've been experiencing a VERY white wonderland this week. It was a White Christmas indeed (thanks, Shmeg!). :) Yesterday my car was so buried I didn't think it would ever be unstuck. Luckily a man with a shovel and some mad snow removal skills performed a small miracle. Today I purchased a snow shovel (how's that for a grown-up purchase?) and I'm excited to have it just in case another blizzard decides to hit SLC. I took this picture today of Spenser in front of my mom's house. The roads are still pretty bad, but at least I wasn't trapped in my house today (like I was yesterday).

My New Favorite Movie
As we all know, I couldn't wait for the new Brad Pitt movie to come out. I was so mesmerized by the commercials I was certain I'd adore the movie. I was right. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a fantastic film. I triple loved it and was bawling like a baby by the end. What a beautiful story, a talented cast, and a wonderful love story. What more could you ask for in a movie? If you get a chance, GO SEE IT! Yes, it's long, but definitely worth it. Plus, 
Brad Pitt has never looked more attractive in his entire life. I'm pretty sure I was drooling. Cate Blanchett was no slouch either - the make-up work was incredible. I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD so I can watch it over and over. I loved the lessons it taught and how it showed how precious life is and how you should treasure each day and the ones you love.
Pinky's Fandance - Friday Edition
One of my favorite movies at Sundance was called Party Monster starring Macauley Culkin and Seth Green. I saw it during one my first festivals and there was a just an amazing energy in the theater which was only intensified by the cast and crew being at the premiere. It was awesome. Unfortunately, I was still a bit of a "rookie" at getting pictures, so I didn't get any with the cast (at least at the screening - I did end up getting a picture with Macauley, but that's a Fandance story for another day). 
The next year, I was at yet another Macauley Culkin movie (honestly, I can't even remember which one) and saw Seth Green sitting in the audience. Score! After the movie was over, a bunch of girls went over to get pictures and he was SO nice and took pictures with everyone. My favorite part was that a lady said to him, "Oh, you poor thing, being mobbed by all these people" (she was being serious, that jerk) and he said, "Yeah, it's rough having to take pictures with all these beautiful girls." How sweet is that? Love him!

Galoon's First Christmas
This year was Galoon's First Christmas and he enjoyed himself very much. Unfortunately we didn't have an English Cracker to put on his head, but it was fine. He was happy with the pink Santa hat. Several years ago one of my mom's friends introduced her to the tradition of English Crackers during Christmas dinner and we've tried to do it every year since. It's fun.
You pull the cracker and inside you'll fine a crown, a toy, and a joke. So, you get to wear the crown, keep the toy, and then everyone goes around the table and shares your joke (the kind of jokes also found on the back of a Laffy Taffy wrapper). I love it.

Would somebody please give Eva Mendes a job? Apparently she's not making enough money because she's taken to wearing a bedsheet for a dress. Poor thing.
Zac Efron continues his Unwashed Tour of the USA. Throw that boy in a shower!

Hooray for Me
Santa Claus was very kind to me this year and brought me everything I wanted (and even a few things I didn't know I wanted). There were two things 
I was dying for: a GPS system (as it was a lifesaver in LA when I used one this summer) and some speakers for my iPod. The best part was that we were able to find some speakers that were PINK! I didn't even know they made pink speakers, but I sure am happy they did! :) Wahoo! Also, check out this fancy tree - not only does it play a song, but the train travels along the tracks. Of course, it's not a pink tree (I have four now, did I tell you?). Thanks Santa! :)

Pinky's Fandance - Thursday Edition
In order to give credit where credit is due, we need to go back to the beginning. When I first started working at the Festival, I had no idea what I'd gotten into. Of course, I dreamt of meeting celebrities, but I was basically happy just to be in the same room with them and *maybe* sneak a picture of them sitting in the audience. To me, this was enough. I was thrilled just being near them. So, you can imagine my surprise to find one celebrity who changed this. I was at one of my first films ever during my first Festival (called XX/XY) and I was sitting right in front of Robert Redford, Mark Ruffalo, a girl from 90210, and James LeGros (he was on Point Break and Ally McBeal). 
While not-so-slyly trying to take a picture of James LeGros, he stopped me and said, "Why don't you wait for me after and we can take one together?" In my head I was like, "Huh? Seriously? Together? Um, OK" but outwardly I think I just said, "Cool" (or maybe I said nothing like the stunned freak I am). As we left the theater, he was standing outside WAITING FOR ME. How freaking cool is that? He's like the nicest guy ever. So, we took a picture and chatted a little and that was that. From that point on he changed the way I looked at taking pictures with celebrities and that it was OK to do so (especially if they're there to pimp out their film). Even better? A year later I saw him at another film and he totally remembered me. We got another pic, chatted some more, and he's just so down-to-earth and awesome. It was a real treat to meet him.

Things People Say
The other day someone said to me, "Not to be rude, but...." Does anything good ever follow that lead-in? How is what comes next NOT going to be rude? I also recently heard, "This is a true story...." Um, of course it's a true story. I hadn't even considered it wasn't a true story until now. Or what about, "Just between you and me..." Well, what about the mouse in my pants? Is it OK if he hears, too? I think if someone prefaces it with "just between you and me" they've already blabbed to others. Other annoying sayings? How about "the fact of the matter is" or "Honestly..." What about you? Are there any sayings which drive you batty?
Celebrity Wrap Up, Thursday Edition
Merry Christmas! Welcome to today's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up. Let's just see who's been naughty and who's been nice (sorry, I couldn't resist). 
Why is Marisa Tomei standing as though she was: A) wearing a back brace B) about to enter a limbo contest or C) doing that Junior High move where you try to stick out your chest? Tsk tsk, Marisa. My vote? Naughty. 
J. Lo looks as though she ripped off the costumes from the set of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" video. Her shirt also looks like the sweater form of parachute pants. Based on her clenched fists and facial expression alone I'm going to have to go out on a limb and say Naughty.
One year of wedded bliss later and Katherine Heigl is obviously still crazy in love with her husband, Josh Kelley. Just because this picture makes me smile, I'm going to have to say Nice.
You know you've made a serious error in the wardrobe department if people have to constantly wonder if you're in costume for your TV series Ugly Betty or if those are your actual clothes. Unfortunately for America Ferrara, these are her actual clothes. Naughty.
I'm torn about this one. On one hand, Keri Russell (aka Felicity) is adorable in her baby doll dress and super cute hair. On the other hand, did she actually steal it off a teeny tiny baby doll? No ruling.
