Pink Roses Make Me Smile

My wonderful husband, Keith, surprised me on Friday with this gorgeous bouquet of pink roses (my fave).

I think they look extra awesome in the flamingo vase. Thanks, babe! :)

I feel like she took all the most ridiculous celeb looks (silly hats, stretchy pants, wild patterns) and just decided to wear them all at once. Horrifying.

Elle Woods would be proud.

Even though they're a brand new couple, they make total and complete sense to me. Their kids would be ridiculously smoldering.

We passed this cherry stand coming back from our trip last week. The biggest question we had when we saw the sign was, "What does Cherries, Etc. mean?"

I mean, I guess I was totally needing some etc., so we came across it at the perfect time. Who doesn't need a little etc.?

Peter Ostrum played Charlie in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Keith had a hard time "seeing" Charlie in there, but when he smiled, you could tell it was him.

I almost forgot to tell you about the greatest thing that happened to me last week - Duran Duran randomly selected me (aka Duran Duran superfan) to be one of their "FF" (which stands for Follow Friday)!!!

Not only did I get picked, but they thanked me for being a fan! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Obviously Nick Rhodes had something to do with this, right? I mean, he's not really on Twitter, but I'm certain he was involved somehow (in my fantasy world, that is).

Pinky's Fandance - Julie Dawn Cole

Julie Dawn Cole (who played Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) is a dream. For someone who played such a bratty, spoiled character, she really is a delight.

Plus, she was also a total dish! Loved that she wore the red dress and I LOVE that she wrote, "I want it NOW!" along with her autograph. Very cool.

Top Five FAILS of the Day

I Need This Shirt

While I'm generally opposed to the stupid Facebook ads, I'll admit to being happy this one came up - I love this shirt! Isn't it awesome?!?!?! I want it now! (Oops, I seem to be channeling Veruca Salt there a little bit).

So far I haven't splurged and bought it, but I'm not quite sure how long I can hold out.

Pinky's Fandance - Paris Themmen

At the recent Hollywood Show, they had a reunion of sorts with the Willy Wonka kids from the original film. Although I loved the movie (who didn't?), I wasn't planning on getting any autographs or pictures with them until our friend Susan gave us a super cool poster. Plus, she told us that for $20 we could get an autograph AND a picture from each one. That didn't seem unreasonable, except for one problem: the guy who played "Mike TeeVee" (Paris Themmen) wasn't taking pictures at his booth. Um, what? All the rest of them did, but he didn't? What kind of crap was that?

His logic was that the show was selling a group shot for $150 (which did not include any autographs). Um, fine, but what did that have to do with us? So, we waited until after that picture was taken and then tried to get his picture. We started at his booth figuring if he didn't do it, then we wouldn't get anyone. Luckily the person in front of us talked Paris into a picture and then he couldn't really say no to us...score! Once we met him, we were able to get the rest of the kids without a problem. Hooray!

Share A Coke Campaign

If you're a soda lover like me, you're probably aware of the new "Share A Coke" campaign going on right now where most of the Coke bottles have a name on them (or something cheesy like Family or Friend).

Here's an example of how these bottles look in the case.

Last week we got this one - pretty sure it meant we were supposed to share our Coke with our dog, Sammy (don't worry, we didn't). Or did it mean Sam Trammell???

Fearing a "Romper Room" situation (read: they never, ever have my name), I went to shareacoke.com and created my own. Now if only they really made them....
