Celebrity Wrap Up - Wednesday Edition

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Top Five FAILS of the Day

Insecure Event

One of my favorite shows is Insecure on HBO and so I was thrilled to be able to attend a screening and panel discussion with the cast.

The set-up at the event was beautiful. Check out these gorgeous flowers! They even matched the flowers on the stage and all around the area.

Now, we attend a lot of these things, but it was a pleasant surprise to hear the stories shared during their time onstage. They were lively, funny, interesting, and didn't sound like the same thing they've said a hundred times before in interviews.

I was also trying to figure out if the two main leads were wearing the same shoes for most of the panel. This isn't a great picture of their shoes, but they were basically identical.

Really enjoyed the evening! Plus, the cast was super friendly and totally mingled after the Q&A. That always get high marks in my book!

Pinky's Fandance - Chris Sullivan

Chris Sullivan is a really cool guy. We actually have some mutual friends in common who went to college with him and they'd be super impressed with how incredibly awesome and fan friendly he is.

I mean, not only is he on This Is Us, but he was in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, so he could easily be super stuck up. I've seen it happen to tons of people once they get a little bit of success. Not so with Chris, though. We probably have at least ten pictures together by now and he's always great.

Watch This: Solo

We attended a screening for Solo the other day, which my Star Wars loving husband has been looking forward to for a very long time.

To be honest, after the reviews weren't entirely favorable, I didn't go into the screening with high expectations.

So, I was happily surprised that it was far more enjoyable than I expected it to be!

Especially Donald Glover as Lando - he may have been my favorite part.

Pinky's Fandance - L. Scott Caldwell

I was walking by this beautiful lady the other day when it struck me that I totally "knew" that face. In fact, she was so familiar to me, that I just knew it had to be Rose from LOST. However, her hair was shorter and I wasn't quite sure I'd placed the right person.

After doing some quick research online to see some recent pictures of her, I realized that it was, in fact, Rose from LOST (aka L. Scott Caldwell), so I grabbed Keith (aka one of the biggest LOST fans around) to get a picture with her. What a lovely woman! She chatted with us about her role on How to Get Away with Murder this season and was just so sweet. Loved meeting her.

This Is Us Event

Earlier this week we had the opportunity to attend a screening and panel discussion with the cast of This Is Us.

Now, I've been to several events with the cast and sometimes they're friendly and sometimes they're not. This was not one in which they were friendly. Well, most of them, at least.

On the plus side, it was cute to see Sterling skype into the panel from NYC and then they all took a selfie with his projected head (they couldn't be bothered to pose with actual fans, but whatever). 

But best of all they gave us these cool lunchboxes filled with a lovely dinner meal. SO cool! Not all the swag we get at these things is very good, but this one was awesome.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Monday Edition

Prime Bender

Last night The Breakfast Club came on TV and of course I'm unable to not watch it anytime it's on.

I was struck by how pretty Judd Nelson is here. Such prime, prime Bender. *slurp*

Pinky's Fandance - Jay Ellis

Jay Ellis plays the romantic lead in the TV show Insecure and is so dreamy.

I LOVE the show and was so excited to finally get a chance to meet him.

What a total sweetheart! He totally surpassed my expectations of how he'd be with fans. Such a cool guy!

See This: Deadpool 2

Last week we had the opportunity to see Deadpool 2 in the theater and we totally loved it. What a fun ride!

While I remember enjoying the first one, I don't think I saw it in a theater and it definitely makes a difference!

So many things happen quickly and it was great to laugh that much in a movie. We've been seeing a lot of dark shows, so it's always great to get a chance to laugh out loud. If you get a chance, I highly recommend this film!
