So, apparently I've been crushing on the wrong person all these years. No offense to my true love, Ricky Schroder, but when I finally met him, there wasn't an ounce of energy in the air between us like there was when I met Keith Coogan (from such iconic films as Adventures in Babysitting and Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead).

I'm not even kidding you when I say that the spark between us could've lit up electricity. Literally.

Within five minutes of meeting he was asking me if we were going to make out. My reply, "Are you going to charge me?" :) Oooh. I'm such a comedian.

Of course, the more I talked with him, the more I wanted to. The coolest thing was that he let me break my "interview cherry" and finally get my very first celebrity interview done and under my belt. Hooray! For a long time I've had this idea of interviewing people on my iPhone and Keith helped me finally do it. After Keith, I was able to interview both Jeremy Licht (from The Hogan Family) and Liane Curtis (from Sixteen Candles). When we figure out how we're going to run these on www.mikethefanboy.com, I'll let you know.

In the meantime, here are some screenshots from our interview. Yes, I know, I'm telling you, we're in love.

I mean, I'm not sure Keith is aware of it yet, but that's pretty typical, right? The girl always knows first. :)

We had so much fun. I love meeting people who make you feel so comfortable and that you've known them forever (or want to....wait, what?!). Man, I am not playing this very cool. Calm down, Pinky, cool your jets.

In true Coogan fashion (I don't even know what that means, but I liked the sound of it), Keith posted this on my FB last night. Yep, I'm telling you, we're in love.

Pinky's Fandance - Tom Cavanaugh

Ooof. I had such a crush on Tom Cavanaugh when he was on Ed. Those eyes. That quirky smile. That voice. His undying love for his old girlfriend. Just all around cute boy.

I'd never seen Tom before, so when I found out he was doing a play in Santa Monica right now, I knew I had to check it out. I'd heard he was nice and I was hoping it was true (as I'd also heard that his co-star in the play, Judd Hirsch was nice, and that was NOT the case at all). Sure enough, despite running a bit late, Tom was super nice - he happily posed with me and my friends and even asked what Sammy's name was (I provided way too much information, but that's neither here nor there). Love him!

Fun Surprise

My good friend Katrina is one of the only people I know who LOVED a show growing up as much as I did. While I loved Silver Spoons and Ricky Schroder, she loved Growing Pains and Kirk Cameron.

When I found out both Jeremy Miller and Tracey Gold (who played Kirk's siblings on Growing Pains) would be at a new celebrity show, I knew I had to surprise her. So, I told her to block out some time on Saturday and I was going to take her on an outing. She was so stunned to meet them, she couldn't even speak. Look how red she got! :)

She also saw some wrestler there - Brutus the Beefcake - and got all excited to meet him, so we got her a picture with him, too. So much fun to surprise her! :)

Rent This: Fat Kid Rules The World

My friend Katie has been talking about the movie Fat Kid Rules The World for a long time. As a huge fan and friend of Matthew Lillard, she was supporting him and trying to get word out about this adorable film he directed and produced. I wasn't really sure what it was about, but when I saw it being offered for rent at Redbox, I thought, "Why not?"

I'm so glad I did. I thought this movie was adorable. Jacob Wysocki stars as the awkward, chubby social outcast who comes of age and finds a friend in this quirky film about finding ones way in the world. I loved the story, I enjoyed the performances, and I thought Matthew did a great job directing it. If you get a chance, check it out!

Pinky's Fandance - Liane Curtis

Anyone who has seen Sixteen Candles (and if you haven't, what are you waiting for?!?!!) will know who Liane Curtis is. Sure, you might not know her by her real name, but you'd definitely know her by her character - Molly Ringwald's sarcastic best friend, Randy.

Every time I see this film (which is, approximately 348 times) I notice something new. I recently watched it again and wondered whatever happened to the best friend in real life since I loved her sarcasm and tone. She was the perfect best friend for evil Molly (oops, did I say that out loud?).

When I found out she'd be at the new LA Celebrity show, I jumped at the chance to meet her. As luck would have it, we hit it off right away. Like, seriously hit it off. We're already Facebook friends and we're planning a road trip to Pennsylvania to find Jake Ryan once and for all. This is real. We were instant besties.

To illustrate how BFFs we are, she took this picture with HER camera - see, besties. She shared the funniest stories - how Molly really was back in the day, as well as some choice moments about Anthony Michael Hall. She's amazing!

Obviously, she has excellent taste in friends. Here she is with the equally adorable Keith Coogan (but we'll talk more about him and his charm later). So stoked to meet her!

Yep, I Did It Again

You know, if there were some sort of award for the most times someone has put their foot in their mouth or just generally said something so ridiculously stupid, I'm pretty sure I'd be receiving every accolade out there. I happen to be excellent at screwing up.

Case in point: The other day I was talking to Crush about hanging out sometime soon now that we're both back from our trips. He said we can totally hang out this week and have Snack Wars. My reply, "Yay because I haven't had it in awhile." What I MEANT to say was that I hadn't had any "Crush time" lately, not that I haven't had any, well, you know, lately (because that's, frankly, no one's business but mine).

To make things worse, as Crush is super into "That's what she said" jokes right now, I followed up my faux pas with, "That's what she said because that IS what she said!" Wow. I should go on the road with this act, right? *groan*

Celebrity Wrap Up - Monday Edition

Hello and welcome to Monday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Is that a heart on the Diet Pepsi can? Oh my goodness, I'm in love.

If I'd seen Marky Mark at the grocery store, I'm afriad I'd have to say something cheesy like, "Uh, I didn't know we were going to the gun show." Yeah, I know. I'm that much of a dork.

Logically I know these two are sisters, but they don't look anything alike to me.

Chris Pine in glasses? Yes, please.

Oh, good. Harry is finally 19. Does that mean it's not creepy for me to maybe, possibly, have a crush on him? I mean, that's only 20 years. It's reasonable, right? Ha.

Top Five FAILS of the Day

What Super Bowl? Bring On The Puppy Bowl!

Apparently there's some big football game airing this weekend. Eh. Not interested. What I'm excited about, as always, is the awesome Puppy Bowl. Could there be anything cuter?!?!

Although Sammy should definitely be a part of it (how has he not been a part of this yet?!?!), I'll still anxiously watch it. Hooray for the Puppy Bowl!

Pinky's Fandance - Josh Peck

One of my favorite Sundance movies was called The Wackness and it starred Josh Peck. I loved this movie and couldn't wait to meet the stars. Sadly, when I went to the screening, I went with one of my friends who isn't really into celebs and didn't want to wait around after to meet Josh (despite the fact that Josh was standing on the stage and happily posing with everyone). I'd hoped to see him around the Festival, but alas, it never happened.

Further confirming my " they'll be around" celebrity theory, I randomly saw Josh Peck at Costco the other day when I ran over at lunch. Yes, Costco. SCORE! Josh was SO nice and I'm so happy I finally got to meet him and tell him how much I loved his film!
