Pinky's Fandance - Lily Tomlin

When I was growing up, Lily Tomlin was like a hero to me. A hilarious hero to be sure, but a hero nonetheless.

Not only did I love to listen to her records ("One ringy dingy, two ring dingies..."), but I must've watched The Incredible Shrinking Woman at least a dozen times.

Last night I had the amazing opportunity to meet the one and only, the legendary, the hysterical Lily Tomlin as she was hosting a play in Santa Monica. In person, she was SO nice. I'm always a little worried to see people in person that I've admired for so long in fear that I'll be disappointed, but Lily surpassed even my wildest expectations. She went out of her way to sign our stuff (see the signed record above) and came down the stairs to pose for pictures. She was so kind and gracious...I just adore her.

Thanks for the Warning

The car in front of me yesterday had this homemade, classy sign on their window:

Well, let me get away from your lame-ass car as quickly as I can, thankyouverymuch.

Speaking of things-I-don't-want-on-my-car, behold my worst nightmare personified. Yikes.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Sunday Edition

Hello and welcome to Sunday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Man, I wouldn't want to see Sean Penn in a dark alley. He scares the crap outta me.

Aside from the fact that her outfit is a few decades too late, is she wearing a purple bra?

Damnit - that's the exact same outfit I wear when I go bike riding...fedora, leather jacket, exercise pants.

So, let me get this straight...she wore that outfit on purpose? Not as a joke? Who even makes multi-colored bodysuits?

Now that's a man-sandwich I wouldn't mind being in the middle of. Even Amanda can hardly contain herself.

Top Five LOL Cats of the Day

Will Someone Please Hire Me So I Can Sleep?

Well, I fear my latest bout with insomnia did not end as quickly as I'd hoped. Sigh. I can't seem to turn off my brain at night and it's always trying to think of ways to get a job. Why did I never realize it'd be this hard? Everyone else seemed to know. Fail.

At any rate, there may be an end in sight...at least I'm headed in the right direction. Today I had two interviews (one of which I totally rocked, was then given a second interview, and then was asked back for a third one next week) and on Monday I've got the BIG interview, the interview to end all interviews (wow, good that I'm not building it up at all). I'm going to ask that you all kindly send me every good vibe you have my way so that I can remain calm, collected, and not say something idiotic during my interview. The company looks SO amazing - I spent half the night on their website and fell in love with the place (I also found three typos on the site...but I should probably keep that info to myself, right?). How else could I stand out? Perhaps this guy in the comic has the right idea?

Pinky's Fandance - Rosanna Arquette

The first time I saw Rosanna Arquette in person, she was at a gas station in San Luis Obispo and she paid my friend five dollars to fill up her tank. That was a long time ago.

Back then, I didn't have my basic photo-getting skills, nor did she leave her car, so a picture was a bit hard to pull off. Luckily, she's starring in a new movie that premiered the other day and I was finally able to get the pic. Hooray!

Celebrity Wrap Up - Saturday Edition

Hello and welcome to Saturday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Mario wears so much freaking base when he's on Extra - you know his daughter's all, "B*tch, you better not be getting your make-up all over this cute face."

How does Robyn know to mimic the exact face I'm making while looking at her outfit?

Speaking of mimicking me, this guy has my freaking-out-for-Johnny-Depp face down to a tee.

Stop slouching, Aubrey! Sheesh.

Does Mikey really need some extra negative attention? I'm pretty sure they'd photograph her anyway...This just seems a bit excessive.

Top Five FAILS of the Day

One More Week!!!

You probably thought my Duran Duran countdowns were over, now that DD week has passed us by, but, my friend, I'm afraid there's a new countdown to be had. That's because in one week - a mere seven days - I will be reunited with my true love in life, Nick Rhodes. Oh, yeah, and the rest of the band. :)
DD is playing a venue in Pomona next Thursday and I'm attending (as a VIP, don't be jealous) with my fellow Duranie, Suzie. I can't wait!!
I'm starting to send out good vibes to the universe starting NOW that we'll be selected at random to meet the band (which actually is something that happens, I'm not making that up. It's part of the VIP thing. We just need to win the drawing). Seriously, if I was able to get a picture with the entire band I'm fairly certain I'd never stop smiling. Ever.

Pinky's Fandance - Christopher Atkins

Can we just talk about how much I love Christopher Atkins? Specifically, Christopher Atkins playing the amazing role of Frederick in the campy classic musical extravaganza that is The Pirate Movie. I know we've discussed my true love and adoration for this film before, but now that I've met Christopher, my love is reignited. Plus, he signed my DVD!!! Look at him - he still looks like one fine piece of man candy. So nice and cute to boot. After his agent took this picture he said, "Now that's a good picture." I was like, "Um, Christopher Atkins is in it. What did you expect?" This was our first take. I kinda love that he's flipping his hair back to primp before we took the picture. Such a hot, sexy diva, no? :)

Mystery Shopper or....Scam??

OK, so in my neverending quest for gainful employment, I've come across what appears to be a scam. Oh, what am I saying? Of course it's a scam, it's me, right? I mean, that's like saying the guy I'm attracted to might possibly NOT be gay. That's just not an option, as we know. I'm just naturally attracted to gay men. Period. What's this scam, you ask? They claim the job is to be a Mystery Shopper which, quite frankly, I would rule at. Getting paid to tell people what's wrong with their customer service? Mark me down for a yes. I'm all about it.
However, what's actually happening is they're sending me large (and when I say large, I mean LARGE) sums of money that I'm supposed to then cash and send via Western Union. That's got to be money laundering, right? Why are all the secret shopper jobs only for Western Union? Do people even use money transfers? It's a bit suspicious...not to mention that the various people emailing me barely speak English, mis-date forms and information, and never actually answer my questions. I'm not sitting on about $4,000 of checks....what do I do with them? I don't want to go to jail. Thoughts?

Celebrity Wrap Up - Friday Edition

Hello and welcome to Friday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up. Yes, Zac Efron, I will marry you, I will have your babies.
Dear Jonai: First of all, Johnny Depp has already put his claim on any and all scarves like the one you're trying to pull off. Second of all, why are you wearing a scarf? Finally, your dog seems more masculine than you are. That is all.
Damnit. I knew I was missing those dyed-to-match blue shoes I wore to Prom. Thanks for being such a thief, Eva. Thanks a lot.
I realize Katy & Russell are trying to look inconspicuous, but their matching outfits stand out like a sore thumb.
I'm not sure who this is, but I think she needs to get back to her coffin.
