The Stylish Blogger Award

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I announce my humble little "Thinking Pink" blog has been nominated for a Stylish Blogger Award by Lindsay over at http://www.iamnotastalker.com! When Lindsay emailed me to let me know about the nomination, I was SO excited! It couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks so much, Lindsay! You rock!
Of the nomination, she said,
"For Pinky's unabashed and non-discriminatory adoration of celebrities and for her dogged pursuit in tracking each and every one of them down to pose for a photograph. Pinky has DEFINITELY taught me a thing or two about stalking (who'd have thunk it?) and the girl is downright hilarious, to boot."
Per the rules of the award, I am supposed to: 1) Thank and link back to the blogger who tagged me with the award. 2) Share seven things about myself. 3) Award recently discovered great bloggers. 4) Contact the bloggers and inform them of their award. Well, here goes nothing...I now present to you seven things you may or may not have known about yours truly, Pinky Lovejoy:
1) I'm afraid of the dark, scared of monsters, and refuse to watch any horror movie of any kind because I'll have nightmares. When I was very little, my Uncle would jump out of the bushes and blame the Boogie Man (he still exists, right?). The one time I tried to watch a horror movie, my friend's sister ran into the room with red jello streaming down her face like blood and that was it for me. The only scary movie I watched in its entirety was Saturday the 14th which wasn't even a real horror movie, it was a spoof. Still, I watched about six times until I had nightmares about monsters. Never again.
2) A white VW Cabriolet was the dream car I longed for growing up (just like Cindy Mancini's car in Can't Buy Me Love). My parents surprised me with one when I turned 19 - it even had pink stripes - and I couldn't love anything more. I'm still sad I had to sell it in lieu of a more practical car when I moved out of state. I miss that car.
3) When I was little we had these sunk in bathtubs and my friends and I would intentionally overflow the tub and get water all over the floor so we could pretend we were ice skating. It was the highlight of our night.
4) I'm a messy person by nature. I wish I had the cleanliness gene, but it's lost on me. When my sister and I shared a room, her side was always perfect, and my side looked like it'd been hit by a tornado. This was my bedroom in high school - I'm afraid not much has changed.
5) My favorite candy in the whole world is a tie - either Big Cherry...
or gummy bears, depending on my mood. However, I only like the white gummy bears. The rest of the colors are chumps.
6) I've had the same close core of girlfriends since Junior High and High School. The picture above is from my 17th birthday when my super cute pink bug was filled with pink balloons.
This picture is from my bridal shower - weren't those glasses the best? I've shared recent pics of us; I wasn't sure I'd shown this pic before.
7) As much as I mock the fact that my mom dressed us alike when we were little, I love seeing pictures of me and my siblings in our matching gear. As we've gotten older and live in different places, I miss them so much and the closeness we once had. I love remembering when we all seemed to be on the same team (hence the matching uniforms). And now, I'd like to nominate the following blogs for the Stylish Blogger Award:
http://mikethefanboy.com For Mike's candid look at the world of fandom: the good, the bad, the exciting, and sometimes disappointing. In addition to his experiences, he shares outside reader's experiences and always delights in and encourages their stories.
http://www.danrenzi.typepad.com/ For Dan's ability to take even the most mundane activity (like a conversation with his mother) and turn into comic gold. He's unflinchingly honest, real, hysterical, and addicting. I love reading just about anything he has to say.
http://awesomesaysthepossum.blogspot.com For Heidi's ability to balance her recent heartbreak over the loss of her cat one day with her true love destiny bid to one day make James Franco her husband the next.
http://britunes2.wordpress.com For Brian's wrap ups on both Glee and The Bachelor - every time I read one, I find myself cracking up over his outrageous and hysterical insights. He's also got killer TV screenshots and great everyday stories about his life. Once again, thank you to Lindsay for the heartfelt nomination - I truly appreciate it. Thank you!

Pinky's Fandance Redux - Colin Hanks

Over the years I've had the opportunity of meeting Colin Hanks several times.

The first time was at Sundance when he was talking to a friend on Main Street. He was nice enough, just on a rush.

The second time was also on Main Street at Sundance, but he was briskly walking down the street in a hurry. He agreed to the picture if we could do it quickly.

This last time was the other night when he was the surprise guest at a play I attended. I think it's funny that this was the first time we weren't actually being rushed and it just might be our worst picture yet. Colin pulled a "Michael Cera" and said not to smile. Don't people know that only makes me smile more?

More Queso, Please

Why is it that when I lived in Utah, there were Cafe Rios on practically every corner and I couldn't care less?

But now that I live in California and have fallen in love with the queso and chips, the nearest Cafe Rio is miles and miles away?

Don't get me wrong, I'll make the drive, I just find it funny that I was surrounded by the wonder that is Cafe Rio for so long and only now have I finally learned to appreciate it?

Celebrity Wrap Up - Thursday Edition

Hello and welcome to Thursday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Since when did they stop making wax figures even resemble the original subject?

Speaking of wax figures, why does she look so shiny and plastic?

Yes, Brooklyn, you have a perfect body, amazing hair, and apparently an affinity for going commando.

For some reason, I kinda adore the on-screen pairing of Russell and Helen. He seems to bring out her fun side.

Do you think they secretly wonder if the other one is hotter?

Top Five FAILS of the Day

I May Have Figured It Out

So, in my sleep deprived delirium, I've decided the noise from upstairs is most likely being caused by one of the following:

1) The new annoying neighbors are attaching these pots and pans....

To the bottom of some hiking shoes.

2) They're having large groups of people over to stomp around and bang pots and pans.

3) Or, finally, they're what I've been saying all along: They are, in facts, elephants. Either way, I can assure you that I loathe and despise every single thing about them.

Pinky's Fandance - Oh Land

Oh Land is apparently an up and coming singer who was on a recent talk show.

The funniest part about her arrival is that she entered the property right next to where my friend and I were sitting and she looked at us like we should know who she was. It wasn't until later, with a larger crowd, that we figured out that she was actually Oh Land (and it's probably good to get her now before she blows up). Duh.

Insomnia Sucks

There are few things worse than being simultaneously exhausted and entirely unable to sleep. It doesn't help that there are elephants living above me, so when I finally got to sleep, they woke me up with their ever-present noise.

The last time I looked at the clock it was five a.m. Lying awake all night wondering about the direction of your life is not my idea of fun. Let's hope it's a fleeting bout of sleeplessness and not one of my infamously long runs. Blech. I wanna go back to bed. Zzzzzzzz.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Wednesday Edition

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.

Well, somebody wanted to take her girls out for a show. Ay carumba.

How would one decide that anything she's wearing is a good idea? It all looks like one major fail to me.

George looks like he's laying down the law: Obviously, he's the bigger star because they're standing by a large poster of his face. End of discussion.

That's a shirt, right? It has to be.

Why exactly was Rihanna at the Country Music Awards? Does having hair the same color as Ronald McDonald somehow get you country cred? I don't get it.

Top Five LOL Cats of the Day

Listen Up: Adele

I realize I'm late to the party here, but I finally listened to the entire album entitled 21 by Adele. Wow. That's really all I can say about her amazing ethereal voice and soulful lyrics. Wow.

I love that this album was written after her heartbreak - nothing I like better than sad lyrics about lost love (no sarcasm intended - I'm quite the sap for depressing lyrics about love). She even does a cover of "Lovesong," which is my favorite song by The Cure. If you get the chance, listen to Adele. She rules.

Pinky's Fandance - Linda Cardellini

I love Linda Cardellini - I loved her work on ER and Freaks and Geeks and I've been hoping to meet her for quite some time.

In fact, I think she's the only cast member from Freaks and Geeks I hadn't yet met, so it was awesome to have the chance. In person, she's even nicer than you'd think - she was so sweet and even asked me what my name was. Love it!

Do I Have Sucker On My Head?

I'm going to give it to you straight: If you ever see one of those work from home gimmicks that look promising, stay away. Stay far, far away.

After signing up and having high hopes for big money at the minimal intro price of $2.99, I've now been seemingly robbed. The Home Website Center - aka the WORST company on earth - have robbed me blind, stolen my money, and left me here to cry (which I did, a lot). If I had any money to begin with, why would I be giving it to them? It doesn't make any sense. I feel bad for the person who picked up the phone when I called them hysterically, but then again, he does work for those weasels. All I want is my $139 back. This may not seem like a lot, but when you're jobless and at the end of your rope, it feels like a million dollars. Fail.
