After the Girl's Weekend, I'll be celebrating the Fourth of July with my family (and perhaps some cute boys in a local band at the beach), so I'm fairly certain I won't be near a computer for the next few days. One of the driving factors of my move being in hyperdrive was that my friends have scheduled our annual Girl's Weekend for this weekend in my hometown. I've known most of these girls (can I really still get away with calling them girls when we're closer to 40??) since we were in Junior High and seeing them again is like icing on the cake with my move. We're going wine tasting tomorrow and I can't wait. Should be a blast.

The first one to come out was Nancy Travis, who is cute as a button, although if I hadn't known to look out for her, she would've blended in with the crowd. There are so many things she's been on that I loved - there needs to be more stuff made with her. Three Men and a Wedding?
Little Miss Phoenix decided to brave the adventure of driving across three states in a big ol' truck with me and we had a blast together. She's the funniest thing - I swear she's 9 going on 18. Too bad I couldn't figure out that we had A/C in the truck until halfway through the trip. Driving fail. Phoenix wasn't even fazed. On the other hand, I though I might die of heatstroke. Thank goodness I found the A/C.
After a long and what seemed like a neverending trip, we finally made it to California late last night. Our three car caravan survived the heat, traffic, flying furniture, lack of sleep, and three kids and rolled into town around midnight. Long long long long day. Today we emptied out the truck and now just have the envious task of finding a place for all my stuff to go. Fun fun. My friend made this picture on Facebook - turned my yellow truck into a pink one. Oh that it were real. :)

Why did they turn the Bachelorette into an Ooompa Looompa?
In a few short hours, my entire life will be driving down the road headed to my brand new adventure. I'm so excited for my new experience. It's funny, when Brett and Jimmy moved several years ago, I was SO upset.....but they actually seemed fine. Not that we don't miss each other and keep in touch, but at the time they were just ready to go. Likewise, I'm surprised how calm I feel at leaving my long-time job and friends. I'll miss them, but I'm ready for the next chapter in Pinky Lovejoy's Book of Life. I'm so lucky and grateful to have met all the friends who are near and dear to my heart here and I'll treasure you always; but, it's time for me to move on. I'm going home.
As we were putting it in the truck, I could finally read what he put. It said, "Heart, M. '07" (for the record, it was an actual heart, not the word heart). I know, he loves me. What can I say? :)
