I've been wanting to see Letters to Juliet since it I first saw the trailer and was lucky enough to see a pre-screening of the movie today. The movie stars Amanda Seyfried, Vanessa Redgrave (amazing!), Gael Garcia Bernal, and some hottie who looks like a prettier version of Ryan Phillipe. It's a beautiful story about a woman who goes searching for her lost love from 50 years ago. Of course, it didn't hurt that it was set in Italy - how would I ever not enjoy that? This movie was fairly predictable (as most romantic comedies are), but it was also sweet and completely endearing. I haven't cried in a movie in a long time and was more than happy to cry in one today. My only complaint would be the under-developed character of Gael Garcia Bernal. Usually they'll make the guy-who-will-be-dumped somewhat interesting, but I couldn't understand why she'd be with him in the first place. He wasn't mean, he just wasn't really anything (except for hot). The movie is released in theaters next week - check it out if you get the chance.
I can't decide which one was my favorite skit (as there were a ton of hum-dingers), but I do know my jaw literally dropped repeatedly over the course of the episode. I mean, when do you think you'll ever hear Betty White say, "Taste my muffin" or "Wizard of Ass" again? Instant classic!
Oh, Don Draper. I love you so.
Wowsa. Rachel Bilson decided to take the girls out for a stroll. I love her dress.
Yikes - you'd think Mariah Carey's mother-in-law would have a little better fashion sense.
Aside from Malin's choker (is it a choker? Is it a necklace?) I really love this dress. So unique and cool.
There's no one else on earth I would want as my mother (and probably no one else could be as loving, patient, and understanding as she's always been) and I'm so happy that she's always been a good friend to me as much as my mom. I love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day! Wish you were here.

My mom always made our birthdays (and most days) very special. This was at my 8th birthday - I'm the one with the party hat on - like the Dorothy Hamill haircut?
I'm sure you'll be surprised to see that my sister and I were dressed alike in this family picture. Oh, wait. We were always dressed alike. I forgot.
Wow - I am hot stuff in this picture. Is that a mullet? Are you jealous of my rocking shorts? I know, they're awesome. We were at Disneyland with my mom's friend from high school.
The $1.99 was completely worth it, since it's going to make me laugh every time I see it.
It's been a good movie watching weekend. Last night I started it off by watching The Burning Plain - which is an amazing movie with Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger with all these varying storylines that come together. It was really well done. I ended the evening with Weather Girl, which was a super cute romantic comedy starring one of the "Mean Moms" from The New Adventures of Old Christine. I really enjoyed them both. Today I went to see Iron Man 2 with my friend Lu Lu Bell - we had some lunch, shopped for fabric (she's going to make me a dress....which, of course, required yet another trip to the craft store), and saw the movie. I really liked it. I know there are some mixed reviews, but Robert Downey, Jr. was super fun to watch and they even managed to make Mickey Rourke look a little less freaky. Oh, and did I mention the robots fighting?!? Awesome. I want one of those suits.
My dad ended with a little shopping at the mall and I *may* have added a few more dresses to my collection. Hope you're having a fun weekend! :)
Nothing says "I'm proud of my daughter" like grabbing her ass on the red carpet.
I wonder what drew Miley's mom to Billy Ray Cyrus - does she have a thing for Achy Breaky Hearts? (*groan*)
Color coordinated outfits with your mom? Well, that's one way to go. Odd that Liv Tyler's mom is the one rocking the Michael Jackson glove. Then again, she did sleep with Steven Tyler.
Well, now we know where Jessica got her, um, interesting fashion sense.
Last night I met up with McFamily and Ruthie's at our old haunt, Cindy Ree's. At one point McP decided that hitting the table over and over to get what she wanted was a good idea and promptly went to Time Out in the corner. Later on when we were leaving, she asked McH if she had to be in Time Out again (as they were walking by the Time Out corner) and McH said no because she hadn't done anything wrong. McP immediately ran right over to the table and started hitting it again. Doesn't she know there's no hitting in Cindy Ree's?
But McP insisted that she was a sweet and innocent angel (look at that face - how could she not be?)
McI decided to one-up McP by doing his "Blue Steel" pose from Zoolander. Yep, he's doing it right.
A guy I went to high school with (yes, I actually know this person - don't be jealous) posted this picture of himself with his new "rat tail" on Facebook the other day. Um.....I'm not sure if I should be amused, entertained, or horrified. Is it clever? Certainly. Is it attractive? Not. At. All. In fact, it makes my eyes bleed a tiny little bit.
If they'd really like to have an interesting conversation/lesson, they should take these Hollywood pretty boys and show them the before and after photos of Mickey Rourke. I'm not sure if you remember, but he actually used to be kinda hot. Behold:
How did this fresh faced, sexy star of 9 1/2 Weeks turn into The Beast?
This is why plastic surgery is bad. This is why we should be happy with what we've been given. Mickey got greedy, obviously. And now he'll live out the rest of his days trying to one-up Kenny Rogers in the plastic surgery department. Sad.
